I am curious about how many people played/plays this games. I played Onimusha 2 and I am currently playing Onimusha Dawn of Dreams.
The general battle system is great, it gives you freedom to strike the enemy few times and then back away. I also liked how Oni magic differs by the weapon's elemental properties.
I know that some might say that some bosses are hard, yeah some of them are hard and thats what I like in this games. Yet there is a still small thing in Dawn of Dreams that I hate, and thats the Test of Valors on which I usually always end up with no Oni magic to use.

I've only played the 3rd one; although i'm still looking for the first one i haven't find it yet.

The gameplay was great, every battle feels nice and doesn't became that repetitive in all the game. The only flaw point is the story. It goes from the amazing at the beginning to the disappointing 'cause the non-sense.

However, hear Jean-Renno speaking french is priceless *w*!!

I've played every single Onimusha game out there, from Onimusha 1, 2, and 3, to the multiplayer Onumisha Blade of Warriors, and finally with Dawn of Dreams.

Dawn of Dreams is the easiest of the Onimusha, and it begins after the original storyline. Though Nobunaga has been sealed within the Oni Gauntlet by Samanosuke, the Genma Lord's spirit still lives. Onimusha: Warlords was similar to playing a Resident Evil game. Onimusha 2 was good, although the ending was dissapointing. Onimusha 3, in which I concur with the person above, went from absolute coolness to average, but I still loved the final battle match. In Onimusha 3, Jean Reno stole the spotlight :O

I never liked Dawn of Dreams well because "Black Oni" was somehow bigger than the buildings and I thought the skills was very bad, but I liked Onimusha 3

I've never played Dawn of Dreams, but I have played and completed number 2 and 3. I found that Onimusha 2 was harder for some reason.

ive only played Onimusha warlords.
i liked it, tho i must say the storyline wasn´t the best.

Never played any. Just heard rumors and read reviews about how good it was.
In terms of gameplay and story do you guys recomend it?

In terms of gameplay, buy the 3rd one; for me is the best, just don't pay much attention to the story, halfway it starts become soo incoherent xD

And about story, i think the first one is the best of all. I haven't played the secont one that much, but i still like more 'Warlords'.

I've played all 5 of the Onimusha games, and with the exception of Blade Warriors, I found them all rather enjoyable. They are much like a Resident Evil game set in Medieval Japan... with a dash of Devil May Cry, of course... and thats not really suprising, considering they are all made by Capcom.

I've only played Onimusha Dawn of Dreams, but never finished it.Since I'm bored these days I'll start it over again.

I'm currently playing through Dawn Of Dreams, my first real taste of the series, and I'm frikkin' loving it! The combat's a lot better than what I expected, although that's perhaps because I rememvber having a shot of the first one and it feeling a lot more rigid a la old Resi games.

I've just finished the 15th Story mission, doesn't look as though there's too much left to go through in the games' progression. Still, there's always the Dark Realm, I've only managed to do 25 or so floors at best with Ohatsu in there.
