Well since I live with my stepmom and my siblings and it's really their own house, I don't really have a say to what food has to be thrown away (unless it's obviously stale) unless we bought the food ourselves. But most of the food in the fridge are not ours anyway, so I don't bother with that. I don't like to waste in general, that's for sure, so I'm definitely one of those people that will eat the food right away so that there is no chance of it being forgotten and eventually rot.
