Am I the only one who is a little pissed off all the CGI sequences used in this game? I think about 40%-50% of the game is CGI. I think they could have released this game a lot sooner if they hadn't used so much cgi. I mean it looks pretty and all but was it necessary? I guess I won't really know until I play the game. But I feel like they tried to make this game over the top pretty. I would have enjoyed less CGI and they could have used that time to work more on XV or something... I dunno. I'm not really complaining. I just think this game was in development for way too long over certain parts that were definitely optional. CGI is great and I love it. I just don't like half of the game being CGI sequences.
In truth I haven't seen or heard how much of the game is CGI sequences but I really can't see it bothering me. I mean, that's sort of what FF games are all about isn't it? I remember a review of FF10 in a magazine a few years ago that slagged off random encounters and said they were the main downside of the game, up until that point surely random encounters WERE Final Fantasy? I am a MGS fan too though so if I don't let those cut scenes bother me I'm guessing FFXIII will be a walk in the park in comparison.
If you want me to sit through twenty minute cut scenes and you have less then 200 hours of play, story only, then you are an interactive movie and not a game!
If they maxed it out, why do we have a very linear gameplay? No "real" towns [as what GT Review said] and less freedom, what's the space for? All those cutscenes? They should've made FFXIII a movie instead if that's the case. I'm waiting for feedback before buying the game i've been expecting for years!
