One of my favourite bands, and in my eyes the best artist of the 90s. Often referred to as the modern day Beatles. Just about all of their songs have brilliant lyrics, guitar and drumming, or if you like they're all generally just all-round brilliant.
I can understand why people wouldn't like the Gallaghers - they do have a tendency of being pricks, particularly Liam.

Ah who cares if they are pricks, the music is quality, and they are a Manchester band which makes them 10 times more epic. I've got a couple albums floating around, and some of my favourite songsa re by Oasis. Defiantely Maybe and Whats the Story...are still amazing albums, and I don't think I can falter a song on either album. Stand By Me is probably my favourite song ever though, I love that song. Oasis is just timeless. Ellie can't ever accuse me of having shit taste in music when she's older I REFUSE to believe that >_>

Great stuff :monster:

OK so what I like about Oasis - first two albums are excellent, and I love their songs Champagne Supernova and Whatever.

What I don't like about Oasis - subsequent albums have had the occasional good song but have on the whole been average at best. And the Gallagher brothers really are the biggest pair of tossers going in music. Usually I can overlook a musician being a git but with Oasis it's usually too much, Liam Gallagher is especially like a Neanderthal at times. Though to be honest I get the feeling that they often just say stuff these days (e.g. slagging off a band) to whip up a bit of controversy, half the time they probably don't even mean it.

So yeah, I did like Oasis once upon a time, but I feel they've been a long way off their best for over a decade now. Still, two great albums is more than a lot of acts manage.

I like Oasis a lot. Like Charliepanayi said, two great albums.
The others are a bit hit and miss, infact I don't really like Heathen Chemistry or Don't believe the truth. Or any of their other albums as a whole. Though I normally like two or three from each. Which when added to Definitely Maybe, and What's the Story, adds up to quite a few songs that I quite like.

I don't like Oasis, but I like some of their songs. (if that makes sense >_>) In fact, Morning Glory is one of my favourite albums ever, every song on it is a legend in its own right. Lots of nostalgia linked there too, because I used to hear it a lot when I was little.

Definitely Maybe is pretty good too but sometimes it's just too Britpop-ish for my liking. Apart from that though, I don't really care for their other albums much at all, Don't Believe the Truth in particular was rubbish.

Oasis are all right but not great in my eyes. First thing that hard rock/rock 'n' roll is my number 1 genre so that has something to do with it. I don't hate them, I have a few of their albums and they have some good tunes but I never seen them as great. Plus as mentioned above, they are a bunch of cunts (Gallaghers). I hate the fact that they really brag about their music rather than letting the fans judge. For example (I think it was Soccer AM) Noel Gallagher said something on the lines of "I've written a couple of belters on this album". Just so far up his ass in my opinion whereas other artists describe what we can look forward to etc and of course the now and again comment to another band which I see as no longer being 'controversy' but just pointless. Like charlie said I think they just keep this up to sustain their persona but I'm uninterested.
