Norg is a random boss xD When I had to fight him I was like "wtf is this?!"
You forgot the 'Bujurururu" laugh.
I thought it was their try at Jabba The Hut. He is a very creepy boss, that's for sure. But with that said, I liked Norg. xD

You tend to think that he is a random boss...until you come to the realization that there is a town full of them! I forget what the race is called though.
He still seems random to me. I think it's Shumi village or something like that. He's such a randomly placed boss xD And then he makes some cocoon thing and hides away forever.

Yes, I'll admit, NORG is totally random when you meet him. It's not until later on in the game that you get the chance to go to Shumi Village.
But then again, doesn't every FF game have some sort of random boss? I'd consider Calcabrina from FFIV relatively random. You fight a gigantic doll for crying out loud!

Well, I wouldn't say every boss is random. Most of them fit within the scope of the story. It's not like you randomly ended up fighting some dolls or some really big green thing that goes "bujururururu". In fact, Gigantuar was probably the most random "boss" in XIII...I mean, Sazh was being taunted by a Cactuar...
However, in the scope of this thread, I do think NORG takes the cake as far as random bosses are concerned. We fight him, and THEN we find out there is an entire village of them. Not only that, but all those moombas we had seen up to that point were all Shumi at one point.

I always wondered why NORG was bigger than all the other shumi... when i first went to the village i expected them all to be his size.
So when Cid was looking for money he found the biggest Shumi and went to him first for funding lol... oookay x
