Noel in place of Snow.

What do you guys think would have happened in the events of Final Fantasy XIII had Noel been Serah's fiancee in place of Snow? What if Snow had never existed? Would Lightning approve of Noel? How would Noel affect Serah's personality?

I will post my ideas a little later! =) Over to you guys first!

This is not a thread in which to discuss whether or not you approve of NoelxSerah. Even if you dislike the idea, it would be great to hear what you think would have happened!

Lightning probably would have preferred Noel, and I think Serah's personality would have been a little more grounded.

Noel and Snow are like counterbalances. Each exhibits a different kind of personality and reasoning. I think its would make more sense for Serah (who almost played a 'damsel in distress' role in XIII) to be with snow, who's the hero type of character. If noel was in place of Snow, and noel was engaged to serah, i think Lightning would have approved of it.

I would love it actually. Snow is always treating Serah like some kind of a baby or a little girl or worse like she is his trophy which is just wrong on so many levels.

Noel is actually a much better hero and much better suited towards Serah. Noel lets Serah be Serah and he doesn't treat her like she's a medal. Also Snow isn't really actually a hero; he's just all talk and that's it.

Though sometimes I think that Serah likes being treated by the way that she does with Snow. I think she feels like Snow is protecting her and keeping her from danger and it makes her fall in love with Snow because she feels protected within Snow's arms.

Though in XIII-2 I thought that Snow's character just worsens. All he cared about was being a hero, a champion and getting all the prizes. Noel and Hope actually cared about Serah's well-being, while Snow just risked his own life again and again so he can feel and and be like a hero. What a jerk.

I do hope that Noel and Serah end up together as a couple, because Noel actually treats Serah like a human being and not a hero award.


If Noel was in FF13 and Snow never existed then I wouldn't mind Serah & Noel getting married and being in a relationship. Noel's moves would of been cool in battle and Hope's mum would of lived. There would of been no revengeful plot between young Hope and Noel and in fact mostly a understanding and a deep friendship because Noel understands what being alone and isolated is like; it would of been more meaningful and deep.

I do believe that Snow is one of the worst Final Fantasy characters ever created because of how he treats his Fiance.

Watching Serah & Snow was like watching 16 & Pregnant...minus both of them were rednecks living in trailers and not pregnant (Serah would have a had a hard time giving birth, poor skinny Serah). With Lightning being the intellegent individual hear trying to make it clear that Snow is just too dumb for Serah.

Noel on the hand seemed to be much more ideal, all he needed was a haircut....a bit of muscle and he would be smart, hunky & kissable

Just, no. Snow is unreliable, and Noel has his fair share of undesirable issues, too.

Noel does make a great friend-like companion, though. He was there for Serah all throughout XIII-2, without wavering. I think it'd just fail in the "lovey-dovey" sense, though.

I wish that Snow and Serah weren't ever together. I have a feeling that the developers of FF13-2 really wanted Noel and Serah to be together, it would make sense due to their journey and struggles together, but they were probably thinking, "Oh wait, what about Snow?"..."Oh, Yeah". LOL! Noel and Serah would have been so cute together. But both of them had different love interests, Noel and Yeul, Serah and Snow. Snow looks heaps older than Serah, so it sort of looks weird.

I rekon, Lightning would approve of Noel, after all, she did entrust to take care of Serah. I don't think Lightning likes Snow all that much.

What do you guys think would have happened in the events of Final Fantasy XIII had Noel been Serah's fiancee in place of Snow?

I have a feeling Noel and Lightning would have worked together to help Serah earlier on, perhaps even before Serah was taken away. Noel may have given Serah the confidence to tell Lightning about her brand sooner.

Had Noel been Serah's boyfriend, Lightning probably wouldn't have accused Serah of lying about her brand. In the main story, she believes that Serah simply wants to run away with Snow. She doesn't actually believe Serah is a l'Cie!

No doubt Lightning would feel more confident in Serah's overall judgment. I think Snow is one reason Lightning doubts Serah. Lightning can't understand why her sister loves him. She perhaps fears that her sister has been fooled by this baffoon or, even worse, is still immature.

It is more likely that Noel, Lightning and Serah would have worked together to the problems caused by Serah's brand. They would have sought an answer together; Serah and Noel would not have fled to find the fal'Cie during the Purge. Lightning would have chosen the best course of action and I believe both Noel and Serah would have followed her guidance.

This teamwork would have prevented Serah from feeling guilty. Would she have been less ditzy and needy? Well, I personally believe that she is a very strong character. Although she develops the most in XIII-2, she isn't too needy in XIII. I kinda think she let Snow feel needed sometimes. Her confidence is shaken primarily by losing her sister and by failing to meet her sister's expectations. She's ever so eager to please Lightning. She wouldn't have failed had Noel taken Snow's place.
