Noctis's personality??

From what I've seen in traielrs, Noctis actually seems to be pretty wise, and a profound thinker. It's strange, because how he looks and would put you in mind of Cloud (or a 'dark cloud'). Cloud isn't particularly deep. But from the trailer, the way he sits in the chair and ponders, contemplating, looking so sorrowful. I think he's going to be quite a deep character. I got the idea that he was contemplating what he does (ie the fighting) and he seemed disillusioned, troubled, fed up etc.

I think that his personality will come across as bitter, he'll want to do things on his own all the time. No one will understand what he's going through his mind all the time (though obviously we dont know yet either) and this will come across in his personalty- he'll seem bitter, cold towards epopel, uncaring about people (i feel he will distance himself from people in general), his speech will be snappy, cold, cruel even. All covering up the true wisdom that lies beneath (because I really have a feeling, don't know why, that he's very intelligent).

He looks young, and my idea that he has the thinking of an older wise man doesn't seem right perhaps. Since he can distort time, perhaps he is immortal, hence the looking so young?

Anway, to sum up: wise, troubled, deep, cold, distant. Also, people think he may be 'cocky' or stuck up- if he is a prince, this might indeed be reflected in his exterior personality.

I agree with you on that! When I look at him, he reminds me of Cloud and his cold face. But I had this feeling that he fights for his people... since he is a prince and all. Thus my arts on dA about the Prince...

Also if you think about it- Cloud and Squall are not what I described. they arn't way above average in terms of intelligence. Both are moody and proud- not sorrowful/unhappy genuinely in the way i think Noctis will be. I dont think Noct will be like any of the two- Nomura said so anyway.

If they stray away from putting another penelo in FF again, I'm just fine with it. Also I hope this does not stray away from the dark theme and also does not have the same "love story" as most FF's have come across.

well each love was orginal but what i think u wanted to explain is
not too lovy dovy or to intimint about it
rather not express love blanky and well expressed
but with noctis and who ever he is with..will show love..hmm..NOT SO OUT IN THE OPEN NOTICABLE

thats how i hope it will be cause since this is a dark tale
the love should be kinda hidden by the naked eye

Mmm yea, what I meant was, I don't want there to be a "love story" just because there is a male and a female character. If there is one then it should be a bit more real than putting two people in the same place at the same time.

As in it should be more spontaneous, you shouldn't see their be a love interest between the two main characters within the first 10 seconds of meeting eachother. I know some FF's gradually had characters fall in love with eachother and others just "click" instantly, but to me they were all the same.

If Noctis is a hardened hearted person, it shouldn't be so apparent like the other characters in the past. I shouldn't have to skip FMVS the second time around playing the game because the love is to unrealistic or to gag me gushy.

I think noctis is going to be a character that hides his true feelings, and when he fights he releases them. When he is alone he thinks about his actions and im guessing he did bad things.

But i agree about him maybe being a more intelligent and wise character, although young, I think he will be much more mature than his looks give off.

But hopefully he will be reasonabley quiet and a girl will come along and she'll help him open up a little, I always like that lol

I agree with that. He certainly does looks somewhat intelligent and perhaps more mature than he appears to be.

Still, I think he'll behave in a kind of equal way to people. Those who irritate him will suffer the wrath of his coldness, while those who befriend him gets warmth... etc. Varies from person to person, thats why i chose the third option.

I think he might have meant some intelligently critical comments might come out. Something that could sting/hurt others...? After all, he is a Prince, he might have some sort of pride that could hurt when he speaks.

I can agree with that, but I think to him it might be something normal and won't understand why it would hurt others feelings. I also feel he might be the sort of person that is only comfortable around his friends and those he knows well. I mean he interacts very well with his friends which I like too.

lol Yeah i've been thinking that too...I think it was due to something that was said like "When he speaks people will be surprised and they might not like him" Something like that I can't really remember, but it made me think of his voice, but it will probably be more of his personality I suppose.

I really don't want it to be that way, simply because it's been done SO many times before...but the whole "emo kid" vibe is exactly what I'm getting from him.

He'll probably get better towards the end though, that is, if they stick to that same plot line that use over and over again.

Ummm no, actually you're wrong. He's far from emo. He's nothing like, Squall and he's nothing like Cloud. The creators have already stated this. He's quiet and apathetic, and he is somewhat shy. He also tries to act cool, so as to hide his shyness. He's not emo, he doesn't have a load of emotional turmoil to hide, so don't judge a book by it's cover before you read the facts.

I just think he's the character who has the "higher" intelligence of his piers. He also has the burden of being the prince, in which it is not clear if he truly wants to be one in the first place. I also think that the maturity level of this character is alot more intense than others. He tends to act sort of humble, and not prideful like Cloud was at the beginning, and maybe it's from his life experience. It will be interesting to see a "Matured" main character.. we've had to many Vaans, Tidus's and others like them..

hmmm yeah i can see that he doent like fighting..ALSO IN THE NEW TRAILER..he seemed upset, confused, mad that Stella drew her sword..he doesnt wanna fight her..also in the new trailer i can see that he has a heaviness over his heart..maybe he knows that the soldiers coming to take he crystal are only taking it to prevent another war.and yet he has to defend and protect it cause it his his family's thus its his duty because he is prince. i think cause of all this noctis is the hard heart kind..but doesnt mean he cant care..maybe he will try his best to hide the fact that he cares about everyone and everything and is really kind..so his eneimies will stop coming..after all this i think noctis will be the most developed male charcter

And yea, we are not all evil, but we have the ability to do evil at one time or another. So let's see how the story rolls out, I just hope this final fantasy is something.. refreshingly new.

hmm no..shinra was kinda dumb and followed orders...the soldiers seemed to have their own purpose..(sounds kina dumb) but shinra..if they fought noctis..would've retreated LMAO I think that noctis and the soldiers are both fighting for their own reasons..noctis has to protect the crystals..the soldiers want the crystal so that another war wont break out...thats why the qoute
