No Kingdom Hearts III By 2012 [11/4]

Just when we're all ready to cut Tetsuya Nomura and SquareEnix a little slack for providing the stellar Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, they remind us of why we're all a little frustrated with them to begin with.

Speaking with Dengeki PlayStation, here's what Nomura had to say about Kingdom Hearts III and the series as a whole:

"2012 is the 10th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts, so we'd like to do something to celebrate. However, I'll say this up front, just because it's the 10th anniversary, we still won't have KH3 out (laughs)."

It could be a joke, but with the way Final Fantasy Versus XIII is going, who can say~

Well, with all the side-games(Re-Coded, 3D, and others) coming out in the next year or two, I'm not surprised at all that kh3 won't be coming in the next two years. I'm actually glad for this.

No matter how much fans don't want to admit it, their all enjoying these side stories. I say this because with each side game that comes out, there's a secret ending that sets up a small event that will evidently lead up to the base-plot of KH3. So, pretty much I suspect that KH3 will be released in either 2015 or 2016, but who can say for sure

This is really frustrating and annoying, and I hate it how they are just laughing about it like it's a joke. Kingdom Hearts 2 came out almost five years ago and there's still no third part to the series. Fans have been waiting for a long time for the 3rd game and now they have to wait even longer for it to come out. News like this just makes you want to rage.

It's nice to see that there are spin offs from the series, but seriously? Are we really expected to wait until at LEAST 2012 for a sequel? It's been quite a number of years now since the second game and I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to know what happens after the second game's ending.

WHAT. I SAY WHAT? Look, I've tried to keep my complaining down to a minimum, but Mr. Nomura makes it difficult by teasing us with laughter! Honestly! At least try to make an effort.

They may well have to put it off for a few years, as they have so much coming out already. They have other projects, and an anniversary is good and all, but it doesn't necessarily mean the game we all want has to come. I am not surprised, in fact, I am happy that he can say it upfront (well joke about it at least. )

Im kinda happy most of the bigger games arent going to come out for a while. With so much work for grad school and the entirety of next year Ill be working 7 days a week, Ill have little time to play these games. I mean damn, I already have like 6 games Im behind on.

Like I said when I found out about this before, I'm not surprised. Along with the other handheld games, Nomura is working on the console Versus game-did anyone honestly think we're gonna get both Versus and KH3 by 2012?

(although we may not get Versus by 2012, so I dunno...)

Nomura said that he'll get back to the Kingdom Hearts series after Versus, so I say be glad for all these "spin-offs" in the meantime. Don't get me wrong, I'm also waiting anxiously for the game called KH3, I just don't understand why anyone is complaining as if the very last KH game released was KH2 when that's not the case.

To anyone who feels they need to chastise Nomura for working on "crummy" spin-offs instead of devoting that time to KH3, you do realize there's a connecting story here, right? Something that's been planned for a while? I'm betting that by the time KH3 comes around, you'll need to know stuff from the "unnecessary" spin-offs to understand some stuff there.
