No Final Fantasy XIII system bundle for PS3 [2/12]

Final Fantasy XIII was bundled with the Playstation 3 when it launched in Japan. This won’t be the case when the game is released in the west.

Microsoft today confirmed, via a press release, that the Xbox 360 will be “the only console outside of Japan to be bundled with the game.”

The Special Edition Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 Bundle will be released the same time the game launches in North America on March 9th.

Err..........why? Why doesn't the PS3 get any love? Why have it Xbox 360 only? Considering JRPGs are better suited on the PS3 anyway (opinion-wise), having a FFXIII 360 bundle doesn't seem to make that much sense.

If it's something to do with Microsoft's wallet, then that is a strong reason why then.

Sony has Heavy Rain coming out in a couple of weeks and God of War III coming out in March not long after the release of Final Fantasy XIII. Both are PS3 exclusives and important titles to Sony, so I imagine they'll be putting their muscle behind that instead of trying to push a multi-platform game.

Microsoft on the other hand don't really have any exclusive titles I can think of coming out until May I think, and with the PS3 version of the game coming with a few extra options, they do need to be creative if they plan on snatching up some new customers with the release of FF XIII (which they obviously do)

I wouldn't take it too seriously, it's not set in stone. On one hand I completely agree since, certainly in the UK we rarely see a PS3 version of any game apart from the one off however, M$oft have no say in what goes on with the release of Final Fantasy XIII, least of all whether the PS3 wll receive a system bundle

PS3 is region free, right? Just buy the Japanese FFXIII PS3 and use that. XD;
Still, I have to say: if the Japanese gaming industry is so dead, then why are they getting all the system bundles and whatnot, whilst those of us elsewhere get absolutely nothing? The best we get are some horrendously pricey and ultimately worthless special editions of games.

This is just little ignorant little old me talking, but surely it'd be better to release this stuff in countries where people are actually going to be interested in buying it? Just a thought.
