Nier Swears to Launch in April

Square Enix set a date for Nier Gestalt (macho Nier, Xbox 360) and Nier Replicant (young Nier, PS3). Both versions will ship in Japan on April 22. Reserve the game and you get a mini-album with select songs as bonus.

While the titular character and back stories are different, the gameplay in Nier Gestalt and Nier Replicant is the same. We’re getting Nier: Gestalt on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 under the name Nier. Square Enix said a Western release is slated for spring. Sounds like it won’t be far behind Japan’s launch then.

The date sounds reasonable I suppose, as it's probably going to be after the cluttering Q1 release schedules. Which is something I can't say for Tri-Ace who are releasing Resonance Of Fate slap-bang on the same day as FFXIII.

There isn't really anything much I want to say about this game actually other than the fact that it's a bit stupid that we're only getting Mr. Generic-Macho-Nier without being able to choose with Nier to get.
