New Tomb Raider shots now available to all [1/12]

Square Enix has released shots of its newTomb Raider game. They’re the ones which were previously exclusive to Game Informer, so more likely than not you’ve already had a look. Watermarked or not.

Feast your eyes on the lot below.
Still no date or platform announcement as of yet, but Crystal Dynamics head, Darrell Gallagher has said to “forget everything you knew about Tomb Raider” as the latest will be “an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character defining journey like no other.”

Is it me or is that Pickaxe really sisnister looking...........like our lady lara is gonna use it on some poor guy, Bow and arrow= a very nice addition to her Arsenal. I doubt Lara will be having the the Duel pistols available, S-E may have had changed that.

She still looks glamourous but that will change cause in the beginning she gets badly unconscious. From some of those images she looks badly hurt and that old man stabbing her or whatever will be some scary stuff. But the whole point of this is danger lurks ahead and it is survival horror which is a really nice approach. I personally love the new approach on Tomb Raider here. Oh and Square Enix taking out Lara's two pistols is a nice addition. They always had infinite ammo and maybe with them out it will make the game alot harder. Not that the other Tomb Raiders were not challenging though.

Ooh, Tomb Raider's getting a nice revamp here. It's very horrific design-wise: lots of grit, dirt, blood, and overall a very grimy and gritty look. I love Lara's new look, it's very watered down, she just looks like a terrified young woman not ready to die in the annals of the jungle, and that pickaxe? The details of the glinting metal and the dried blood is very impressive. I'm liking the overall change of direction the series is taking, it's much darker and mature, not at all like the Tomb Raiders of the past. Oooh yes! No more infinite ammo with the dual pistols! They're even switching up her arsenal, I'm so curious to see how this installment turns out. It could be a hit or miss with the devoted fans, but it could recruit some new ones. Definitely keeping my eye out on this one.

I love the looks of this. I haven't been a big fan of Tomb Raider since its lack of story, and more focus on annoying puzzles, but I may change my mind with this. Looks great.

Oh thank goodness they didn't model her after Angelina Jolie, it would have been horrid!

Does anyone know what system this will be on? PS3, huh? I hope there is an Xbox port, so I can play. PS3 is too expensive T.T

I've loved Tomb Raider since the first game and I was just a toddler. I can't wait for this game! It looks truly amazing and the girl looks like she whoops some serious arse.

Yay, I'm glad! You and me both. I remember playing the original on PS1 at my little cousin's house, it was pretty damn addictive. And then I tried my hand at Tomb Raider: Anniversary which was pretty fun so I'm interested to see how this one turns out. Hearing about this alone may just tempt me to finalize my decision to get a next-gen console. Lol.

I think Alice, Terra and Major (Both Majors from GITS and Doomsday [Eden!]) will have a new friend into the Four Coolest females ever. Alice, Terra, Major/s and Lara. They make the team of the life-time.

Hm Tomb Raider: Anniversary was a ported game so it was for PS2, PS3, the Wii, Xbox 360, and the PC as well as the Mac OS X operating system. It was a pretty good and solid remake of the original, if I must say so myself.

It isnt a remake. It is a reboot. A Remake and Reboot are completely different things. This is Square Enix's approach on a rebboted TR that has Lara not so much on sex appeal. It is survivor horror type of thing. Creepiest/scariest Tomb Raider yet. I like the new approach.

I know what a reboot is, but I had no idea that they would reboot Tomb Raider. That's pretty cool, though I have to be honest, I didn't think she was just for sex appeal in the first game... lol

Anyway, I agree with you. Its a nice approach either way. The game looks absolutely horrifying and very beautiful. Oh and scary! And I love scary things! :33

TR needs a kick in the pants, Underworld and legend also anniversary were great but it was getting old, lets see what S-E can do with the bonny lass?

I thought Underworld was pretty woeful, personally. I don't see why it needs a 'reboot' it was great back in the day but it's gone stale and like DMC, it's a good time to not reboot it. At the end of the day though it's going to be constantly compared to Uncharted, which, Tomb Raider can't hold a candle to.

I hope it's as plot-intensive as it is a gaming challenge. Throw in a hundred puzzles and some dazzling weapons, cool. Throw in a plot that might resembles that in Legend and Underworld? Fuckin amaaaaaazing.

Well Angelina Jolie is a bombshell, she is one of the hottest females ever. She is sexy. Look up under the dictionary the word "Sexy" you'll see a pic of her.

Also she has a lookalike Jennifer Straus. Who might be even hotter imo./

So yeah your opinions sounds bias and a bit jealous.


On Topic:

This game has some nice screenshots that made me wonder how much it will resemble UC..if its exactly like UC I will love it..!

The close-up pic of this newer Lara Croft doesnt appeal to me, but the other ones she somehow seems more beautiful in. Also strong. And this horror aspect of the game makes me even more anxious..
