Been curious about this RPG. Is it for xbox 360? If so I know it's a series and which one should I start with? All help appreciated.
New To Final Fantasy. Help please?

FF13 is coming out for the 360, I believe. As far as the series goes, for the most part they're all stand-alone, with the exception of Final Fantasy X-2, the various FFVII sequels and prequels, and FFXII: Revenant Wings. So it doesn't really matter which one you start with, other than personal preferences/which game box appeals to you.

Are you just new to Final Fantasy or RPG's in general. If you play other RPG's what do you like about the ones you play? This could help us identify which Final Fantasy games you will like.
I've only played most Final Fantasy games once so I may not be able to help you too much but other people on here certainly will.

As said previously, FFXIII will in fact be for 360. The other stand alones are for PS2, PS1, SNES and NES. If you are just diving into the games, and are concerned about having "good graphics," you would probably want to start with FFX. If you are less concerned with good graphics, FFVII is a lot of peoples favorites. I find that they are all fantastic, with the exception of FFII.

Adding onto what Dirges said, you can find a lot of the older ones on newer systems. FF I and II have been remade a billion times, so they should be pretty easy to find. III and IV are on the DS, while V and VI are on the GBA, which I believe is the most recent remake. VII and VIII you can get on PSN. IX is only on the PS1, and X and XII are on the PS2. XIII will be on both the PS3 and 360.
Some of the more popular games in the series are VI, VII, and X. Starting with any of those would be good. I really like IV, but it's a difficult game, especially on the DS, so it might not be a good place to star. If you play the older ones, IX would probably be good as well, as it apparently has references to those games.

Well it all really depends on what you lean on more and what appeal more to you. It really doesn't matter where you start though, I played through the older FFs first then to the most recent ones. As FinalHeart said, you can pretty much find all the FFs if you have the correct systems to do so. If your interested in IX (one that hasnt been on the PSN) I would buy the game online. (if you own a PS) because Gamestop and whatnot don't sell PS1 games anymore and online isn't too bad (pricing)

Never played FF before.
I have never played a Final Fantasy game before. That said, I am going to get FFXIII when it comes out for PS3. I always heard people talking about how great Final Fantasy it is, so I'm going to get it. Having never played final fantasy games before, will the game explain the battle system and key story elements, I'm afraid being new to FF that I may not understand the game. Also, if there is anything else you think I should know about Final Fantasy being new to the franchise, let me know. Thanks

Do not worry every final fantasy game world is completly different. it like different demisions all the way to the laws of physics is different.
uh and just to tel you play 7-10 their awesome.
12 pretty much sucks. and 11 is a mmo.
You see every final fantasy game that came out have been the king of it time have. no other game have better graphics character developement.
Fantastic story line like final fantasy. their only 2 real key elemt that been in every fnal fantasy game chocobo's and summons.
However summons in every final fantasy game been completely different.
Uh and the name cid is in every one.
The battle system is always different, in each ff game.
i personaly think the new thing with summons only one per character and them transforming could turn out to be really cool.
So even if you new to fina fantasy you will be okay nothing really need to be known exept you soon be in the ride for your life.
Best game you will have every played

Final Fantasy is wonderful--hope you enjoy it! As people have said it doesn't really matter which one you start with, but if you start at the beginning and work your way through in order you do get to see the evolution of the graphics, which is pretty cool. If you can find any way to play the older ones on their original systems (especially IV and VI on SNES) I'd recommend doing that too--I know a lot of people prefer the updated versions, but there's a certain charm to the old ones too that the newer ones don't have, IMO Oh, and make sure you fight through as many random battles as you can, because if you don't you can often get stuck needing to level grind for quite a long time to get past certain bosses.
