Scans from this week's Famitsu issue are starting to surface, and first we have three pages filled with new Dissidia Final Fantasy images. The scans show off Exdeath and Butz from Final Fantasy V, and Squall in a SeeD costume.

Looking good. Nice to see that Cactuar is in the game!

I like the way Bartz and ExDeath are looking as well.

I really want to see the next trailer now!
 
If you notice, there's a picture of Ultimecia/Griever's fusion right in the middle of the scan, on the right hand side. Epicsauce.

Investing in a PSP will be the most useful choice, before a PS3 or a DS.
 
I've heard, though probably nothing more than a flying rumour, that there is to be 50 summons in the game, and 4 alternate costumes for each character. If I can find the source again I will cite it here, but I don't think its reliable, though the guy did sound certain of himself as if he had heard the news straight from Square-enix' mouth...

EDIT- Ok. Found it. Here is the source. He seems to be talking about what was revealed in the scans, and from that has concluded that there are to be 50 summons.

More truthfull I saw a list of confirmed summons on Final Fantasy Wikia.
They are as follows:
Nice to see that Gilgamesh is to make an appearance, even if it is just as a summon.
The fact that a lot of these summons are so obscure or even character specific (eg, Maduin) suggests that they may play a role in the story development also.

Yeah wikia is the best FF Info page, i always use it to find news about , thats were i got the Images of Terra. :D

Did you see the Summons graphics? they look like FF Tactics/Tactics Advance one, its nice to see Mr.G (Gilgamesh) its in the game.

And... Knights of the Round? I am dying to see them lol
 
Yeah I noticed that with the scans. More clear with Ifrit that it is Tactics style summon artwork. I'm dying to see how they work, whether they work as quick powerups / damage dealers, or whether there is more to them than the artwork etc.

I also would like to see how they tackle Knights of the Round! I can't wait for the next trailer to go up on the net... I want to see what the guys at TGS saw.

I heard a rumour that the main site was to be updated yesterday.. But sadly it hasn't :sad2:.
 
Awsome more characters do you think Yunal will join in? Can you play as the summons. Can not wait till this FF fighting game yeah!!!!!!

I'm not sure. I doubt we will be able to play Yuna, though they have not ruled out the possibility of additional characters to the 20 main roles that take part in the story.
We shouldn't take the inclusion of summons to mean that Yuna will be in it though, as it appears that multiple characters, if not all of them, will be able to summon. I've heard that Terra was seen summoning Typhoon in the latest trailer (which isn't on the net yet), and in the scans on this thread it appears that Bartz can also summon.
With summons like Knights of the Round and Choco-Mog I can assume that Cloud will be able to summon also.

The way it might play out? 2 summons per character. Thats if the rough 50 estimate is to be believed. From what is confirmed I can see a pattern already.

Cloud = Choco-Mog and Knights of the Round
Bartz = Syldra (Hydra, Faris' pet water monster) and Gilgamesh
Terra = Typhoon (Chupon, Ultros' sidekick) and Maduin.
Squall = Brothers and Diabolos

But since Bartz (Or Ex-Death since the scans aren't always clear who is doing the summoning) is seen summoning Ifrit, Carbuncle and Cactaur in the scans that could mean a few things...

1. Anyone can summon anything (and you select a summon before battle).
2. Bartz is using his mime ability and using someone elses summons.
3. There are generic summons such as Ifrit that anybody can use, since they have no personal significance to any of the characters or the worlds for which they represent.

Generic summons may be (out of what is confirmed):
Ifrit
Cactaur
Carbuncle
Bahamut
Tonberry


Now Exodus... Exodus is an odd choice since it is practically Ex-Death... Perhaps it will be a villains summon? Ex-Deaths summon? Still an odd choice of summon, but I'll see where it goes.

So it maybe playing out with 40 character specific summons and 10 generics. But that might all be way too much speculation, and I don't know if I can believe the source that said it was to be 50 summons until I hear it from Square-enix' own mouth.

Wow, I didn't know Cloud had been confirmed! That's fabulous news ^^ I hope the next trailer has him in it!!

I get more and more excited about this game with every new scan they release. I haven't played FFV though, so I really don't know what to say about the characters from that game, other than they look pretty cool xD

As for Squall, he's lookin mighty spiffy in that SeeD uniform :D I really hope the four alternate costume thing turns out to be true cause that would be awesome.
 
Hmmm.. I don't feel right posting in this thread now... The generic Dissidia chat threads are dead though, and the last person to reply to them is me!

Is no-one else bothered about Dissidia? I spend most of my time on the internet looking up for the latest Dissidia info these days! I wan't to know more and more and more!

Anyway... It would be interesting if there were 4 costumes per character, though it'll be hard to think what they would be.

EDIT - ok.... Here goes... Left it a bit late.

It's hard to think of 4 costumes per character but some costume ideas we could have.... (Purely silly guesswork on what we may get...):

Cloud - Normal, AC, Amano, and Shinra Soldier (in that uniform, but with the Buster Sword, like when he stabbed Sephiroth).

Warrior of Light - Normal, Fighter class (red costume and hair). Unsure what else...

Bartz - Normal, Amano colours (white hair and darker clothes), game look (as in normal, but less fancy).

Terra - Normal, Green-Haired... Not sure of any other costumes...


What I've noticed is that I'm struggling to find 2 costumes, nevermind 4 for the different characters. Zidane and Kuja for example, have they EVER changed their costume? Most characters don't, though I guess the Amano designs will be good to look at, but they're pretty darn similar in FF9.

Ok. Final Fantasy Wikia and Wikipedia have been updated...

There ARE four costumes per character.

"Alternate costumes have been confirmed in an interview. The developers plan to have four outfits for each character. "

And... There WILL be 50 summons!

So... Seems that all of that is true afterall.


I've just realised... this is all off topic now, no longer talking about the scans. Sorry, I'd post on the main Dissidia thread but everything I stated in my post here is relevant to what I said in this thread before...
