My Co-workers won't shut up

Now that my boss has gone on vacation, my co-workers have set out to piss me off. Today it started because I paged someone for help. When that happened, they started calling me boss, manager, the leader, etc. It really pisses me off simply because of the fact that they don't shut up about it. I know they mean it as a joke, but there is such thing as a limit. How should I put up with this for the next 2 weeks? (my boss's vacation time)
 
"Asking" them to stop isn't going to be very effective. Telling them is more effective, but it's they're persistent... Then you'll have to sit it out. Just get over it.

Also, Stryfe, don't infiltrate these threads with your mindless tripe. That's why we have a Spam Coliseum; for people like you to spill your apparent brains all over it.

If he demands they stop calling him ''Boss'', and ''Da man'' and stuff, then they're loyalty might suffer.

Not necessarily. It doesn't seem like he's got any kind of executive position anyway, so this is irrelevant to his current state.

It wasn't mindless. xD. There is far more off-topic posts than that, I am sure.

Anyways, if you want my opinion....

Accept it. If they call you boss, actually become one while he is away. Make them succumb to you. If, on the other hand, you are so annoyed to accept that, then actually ignore them to an extent. That is, don't speak to them or listen until it is a meeting. Bring something to plug your ears, like music or something when you are working on your desk.
 
... then the point of this whole thread now makes no sense. If you can ignore them so easily, HOW is this bothering you?

If it's just meant as a joke, then you should take it as a joke. I don't know what position you have at your job, but just joke around and give orders out. If it still bothers you after that, then you'l just have to wait it out until your boss is back.

That seems like the only thing to do. Like I said, jokes have a certain limit before they're not funny anymore. This has gone past that limit.
 
I dunno, I'd love for people to call me ''Boss man'' What I wouldn't give for a kid to come up to me and say, ''Shoine ye' daisy-roots Guv'na?''
 
Well I am the boss at my job. The guys are always and consentanly messing with me. Its dosn't bother 90% of the time. Due to the fact I can always have a come back. I'm a master of sorts at combacks. As far as the times they do get on my nerves I simply make them due stuff they don't like doing (taking out trash, sweep floors ect...) then while there all pissed off doin that I will yell at them repeating what they said to piss me off. Like "I'm the office Bit** huh? look at you now trash boy!!" That always make me feel better.


In your case you should just smile at them when you don't have a comeback. That will get old to them if you don't get pissed off. And you should at all times be thinking of comebacks to say. Even if two guys are just hollering at each other you should think of what you would have said. A good one is insulting someones shoes, clothes, hair. You also have to do it loud enough that other co-workers can hear it and laugh at them as well. Believe me if you bust back enough they will stop.
