Im just curious how people feel about games thet offer the "multipe player" options. For example how Birth By Sleep has the option in the Mirage Areana and how DQIX offers it as well threw the rapportal and tag mode.

For me its almost irksome since few people in my area play the games I like or not at all. In some cases to optain certain things in a game you do have to use these options wich for me screams unfair since these arent a popular thing here.

For the most part I just pretend its not there no sweat off my back I can be uunanal retentive for that little bit ...but it does nag at me since im more or less a completionist.

I also must say I dont care to much for multiplayer games anyways I much more enjoy doing my own thing without having someone annoy me threwout my relaxation time.

Im just curious what other people think of this and if they rather enjoy it .
~I did hunt for a thred such as this but didnt seem to find one though I could have just scrolled by it......

I wouldn't mind it, but half the time you can't do the stuff by yourself, which really pisses me off. I mean, Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs has a downloadable mission that allows you to get a Deoxys. The problem? It's a multiplayer mission only. Same thing goes with a few achievements/trophies in games, like Fable III - some you can only get if you play with others, which is very off-putting.

This kind of thing really pisses me off - some of us don't have friends to play games with, or just prefer to play by ourselves. It's always nice when multiplayer options are included in games, but they should remain just that: options. They shouldn't have anything in them that you can't do by yourself.

Thank you for your reply!
Those where my thoughts when I wanted to upgrade my inn via tag mode in a game ....It shouldnt be mandatory to do since my area isnt into multiplay as much as other areas.

I like multiplayer options but they need to be just that- options not necessities. I even enjoyed ff6's "multiplayer" style, because if you play rpg's with friends everyone wants to be in control. Also maybe a split screen so you can input different actions would be interesting.

I agree the games I like to play, most friends of mine dont even play those types of games...it sucks ! , but I like MultiPlayer myself..
This way I get my hours really out of the game... I hate to pay 60 bucks for a 30 hour game....and afterwards never playing it again..

Im also not a huge fan of replaying games.wtf Its not like I have that much time to waste..

So multiplayer is one thing I really like. I used to be a huge fan of MMORPG's so yeah I guess that got stuck in me brain ayyyyyye...

Honestly, I'm not a fan of multiplayer for the most part. The only good games to play multiplayer for me are classic beat 'em ups (like Streets of Rage or Double Dragon), a music co-op game (like Rock Band) or fun racing games (like Mario Kart, not like Gran Turismo (which is a little more serious than MK)).

I grew up not having many friends to play games with, so I got very used to playing games alone. And being the peacekeeper that I am, I didn't want to play one-on-one type games with someone else because sometimes hard feelings were had. Silly, I know, but I was young and didn't know any better. So most games like Street Fighter and sports games were out of the question for playing multiplayer for me. I just wanted to have fun, not compete with someone else.

Truth be told, I've never really been a of multiplayer games. I did enjoy them when I was younger - back when I first played Tekken - but I guess I just got so into the RPG genre that gaming for me has become more about immersion and less about playing with other gamers.

That said, I do play a certain well known MMORPG, but the community leaves a lot to be desired and I mostly do my own thing anyway.

There's going to be a point where the majority of games are going to be multiplayer or feature multiplayer options, as mentioned in the OP with Birth By Sleep, Kingdom Hearts is one of the last games I expected it from so it kind of shows the direction companies are going to go. Simply put; multiplayer sells.
