Most depressing part

I'd say Aeris dying.....especially after I leveled her up a crudload and then lost her abilities, just like that.

*shakes fist*

That....that was the most depressing part.
I didn't pick the game up until a month after. -_-

Yeah I would have to go with the Aeris dying part. I was so surprised when it happened and then I got really sad that I wouldn\'t be able to use her any more

I gotta totally agree on this, that's defintely my choice too, the fact that Aeris dyed and that I wouldn't see her for the rest of the game really stuck too me.:shame:

I think Aeris dying was the most interesting part of FF7. Its was sad but i don't think it was depressing, she made that story but it didn't lose anything for me cus it was so shocking.

I don't think there is anything story-wise but games (FF3 for DS) that are too short are a bit worrying.

Not for me. Since it is basically the original but with characters and some added content. Despite the new features in the DS version, it is still basically the same old game. If it was a completely new FF game that was very short then I can see why which is one thing I found depressing about FFXII. It was very short and the fact that I get more of a "Final Fantasy Tactics" feeling when I play it rather than a "Final Fantasy" feeling.

When it comes to Final Fantasy, I'd have to say Aeris' death. It made me cry when I saw it.:(

But after the ending of KHII, I have no tears... >={

Quite a few tragic scenes in XII got me teary eyed. Yes, for all the nay sayers out there, tragic scenes did exist in XII.

XD

1. The Massacre aftermath at Mt. Bur Omisace
2. Seeing Drace die - the look in her eyes was very depressing
3. Seeing Dr. Cid die
4. Reddas sacrificing himself

I'll agree with 3 and 4 of Rulia's post. They were... certainly quite something.

Other than that, I don't recall anything being particularly saddening. Perhaps when Kuja finally came to his senses and spoke truth to Zidane within the Lifa Tree. That stands out somewhat for me.

for me, it was when FFIX ended because it was such a perfect and conclusive ending it left me with no questions marks, i had nothing to question and complain not knowing enough about, and i was CERTAIN there was never gonna be a sequel so i had to say goodbye forever to one of my favorite groups of characters. makes me wanna go play the game again. oh and i definitely agree with rulia about 4. he was such a cool character, i was pissed.
