Help Morph ability

There is that Morph ability in FFVII.
I remember seeing this ability in FFTA for the first time and I quite liked it.

I remember I had Morph in FFVII, but I have no idea what it does.
I tried to use it (I think...) but it didn't have any effect or I simply didn't understand it.

So what does the Morph ability does in FFVII?
 
Morph essentially damages the enemy for a small amount of damage, and if it kills the enemy then it will transform it into an item.

It doesn't work on bossos though, but essentially anything else at varying rates of success could turn into different items.

So if you had tried it and it didn't work in FFVII then it was either a boss you tried it on, or the enemy you did was not weakened enough before you did it.

If you really want to morph I'd suggest getting Yuffies Conformer. It does full damage with morph. Coolness.

Also like said before you can turn enemies into items. When done right you can get a lot of X-potions, turbo ethers, and unlimited sources, like power source luck source ect.
 
Yeah, I've been farming for Power Sources for a long time in the Gongaga Reactor. It's convenient because the wheelie-dinosaur enemy is the only thing you encounter there, and it's weak and if you've got strong characters you can morph it in one hit.

Yeah when the enemy is close to death, if you morph it on the killing shot, it more than likely turns into an item.
 
It's quite useful on some enemies becuase some leave behind or morph into pretty good items.
