He had a perfect 600 fair and square.

Kelly made sure he was always healed, and people were spending all their energy in knocking Ultros down as opposed to Auron. That's why he had 600 at the end, coz when they knocked Ultros out Dr Cid was already too low for them to really have a fighting chance at taking on Auron too.
 
It's a travesty that Celes, Kefka and Ultros was beaten by a dead middle aged guy:gasp:
 
As a Final Fantasy Forum, we should be encouraging Cloud fanboiism otherwise you'll feel the wrath of Cloud lovers around the world. Therefore, I hereby dub Cloud winner!
