*kicks the numerous COD threads out of the way*

I didn't see a thread for this...so, I figured I'd start one up. Up until it all went to hell with Rising Sun, I was very fond of this series.

Is anyone considering buying the reboot scheduled to come out in October? I'm debating picking it up...reboots are often very hit-or-miss, and given how bad recent MoH games have been, I'm reluctant to go anywhere near it.

Still, its looks interesting. It looks like they've really put some real effort into it this time and, whilst I doubt it will sell nearly as well as the new CoD game (an injustice in my opinion, since MoH was around years before CoD was, and I don't see what is so great about CoD anyway) but I think it might actually be a PROPER instalment to the series. I also find it quite amusing that you can play as the Taliban in multiplayer...but I've always loved controversy in video games. xD

...plus the special edition has a download code for a remastered version of Frontlines included ♥

So...discuss.

I have to say that teaser trailer was very dramatic but simply awesome, I havent been to war ever etc. but I really felt the message of that trailer.

Ive seen some vids of the MP and I have to say too much reminded me of MW2.

Mistuki told me the MP Beta was awesome though... but for me personally I think 1 FPS is more than enough for the time being.

So I wont buy the game. Im waiting for Black Ops.

I doubt I'll pick it up, but the beta was very good, I'll admit. The massive problem was the lag even with few numbers so hopefully it being a beta they'll have sorted it out. It was very much Modern Warfare 2 come Battlefield 2 but there wasn't a lot to do or unlock so it's difficult to say how well it will hold up to Black Ops in terms of that. Sales wise, it won't hold a candle to it.

Nevertheless, I wouldn't pick it up anyway because I lack PSN here at uni, and tbh, the main reason I would pick up an FPS is for the multiplayers since they tend to lack a little storyline wise, and, are REALLY short. I admire them for the approach they've take though, with it being set in Iraq I really hope it succeeds and then maybe some other developers may take an interest in that setting, too.

I'm not really interested in Medal of Honor but I will continue looking at this game. It seems like it will be a different type of FPS game. I'm still pretty sold on Black Ops at the moment though.

I'm actually really interested in picking this up although my multiplayer motivation is severely lacking at this point in the semester. xD

Besides, I really need a shooter, I've always like MoH, so I guess putting two and two together means buying.

I've played Medal of Honor for the PC and I wasn't too thrilled with it. Really didn't play it too long and it got really repetitive after a while. The graphics where really good for it though so I was kind of impressed but besides that it did nothing for me.

I might get it for the PS3 if a lot of my friends end up pressuring me to. I'm not spending $60 on a game that I haven't liked any of the ones before it, so I'll wait and see and maybe watch one of my friends play it first before I really decide.

I'll be honest there hasn't been a single medal of honor that I've liked. They backstepped when the first one came out. They went from a war game like Days of Defeat to medal of honor, but I blame EA for being total retards in the gaming market for that. They should stick to their sports games, and stay there.

Yes I'm harsh about EA, because they are a label killer.

Reasons why they backstepped:

1) Messy frame rate issues, only 2 years later
2) Minimal guns, everyone used an assault rifle, instead of single shot guns
3) No enhancements for the gun
4) Grenade spam

So this is the reason I won't check out this new game, unless I hear amazing reviews, but how can there be, we've already outdone the war genre.

So I actually went out and played the game and I was kind of disappointed. It wasn't as good as I thought it was, the game play was almost exactly like Call of Duty, multiplayer wasn't even that good. The graphics were alright, for some reason when I watched videos on it online the graphics look good, but not so good on my tv. Looks almost too glitchy.

Overall I'd say rent the game and try it out instead of buying it

i got it for ps3 and i hate it. Its pretty much Battlefield, everything seems the same. The guns are boing, the gameplay is ehh, and the textures are flat. Theres nothing really new about it or unique. i wouldnt recommend it at all

Frontline is one of my favourite war games ever, Loved the first mission on the beach as well, I didn't mind Rising sun but it was no where near as good as frontline and i had the first one on PS1 but can't remember much about it at all

I borrowed tha game from a friend of mine and I gotta tell you the StoryLine is immense !
Such great story and I really felt connected to all my teammates and somewhat bonded. it was crazy action, helicopter part was memorable... awesome awesome story !

Too short storyline...
I couldnt even get into MP cuz it loaded like for way tooo long to get in...thats ridiculous...

Also its a pretty difficult game imo..I died so many times...guns and grenades etc.. sound realistic... Talibans themselves sometimes dumb dumb AI..

Sometimes I saw glitches and pixelated..but at other places graphics where amazing suddenly...

In the cave when the sun shines through and reflecting on the walls of the cave = superb///....

Great game imo, but MP sucks ass cuz I couldnt even get in :ffs: the menus arent well sighted...overview..etc.. was too confusing for me..

and sometimes the game frreezes :O

My bro just got the game one day after it came out, on PS3. And, eventually I took a look at it myself.

Till now I haven't reached the ending but I'm losing the interest to so far. I dunno if someone else feels the same here, but to me I've been never into any kind of war nor did my ancestors so it turns hard to me to understand some things, yet when were just talking about a mere game.

I think terrorism is bad, but I think too that fighting it with the same weapons is a bad thing as well. If terrorism exists is because someone or some nation is seeking ways to make their voice heard, in real life.

Talking about the game, and taking the supposed "heroes" place we fight terrorism, but why we have to fight? And why we start a war in the first place? Because someone puts us in that and is controlling us, maybe?

I always supported peace everywhere, not only where I wanted it to exist. I know it's just a game, but damn it feels so contemporary that is impossible to simply ignore. I prefer the kinds of Fallout (New Vegas yay!), a much more modest and vanguardist title.
