Has anyone else seen this wonderful, wonderful film? I saw it last night with my friend Becky, and it's the best movie I've seen all year. And definitely the best musical I've ever seen. It makes High School Musical look pathetic, and it has a certain something that made it amazing that Hairspray lacked.

It had most of ABBAs best songs in it -

  1. "I Have a Dream" – Sophie
  2. "Honey, Honey" – Sophie
  3. "Money, Money, Money" – Donna, Tanya, and Rosie
  4. "Mamma Mia" – Donna
  5. "Chiquitita" - Tanya and Rosie
  6. "Dancing Queen" – Donna, Tanya, and Rosie
  7. "Our Last Summer" – Sophie, Sam, Harry, and Bill
  8. "Lay All Your Love on Me" – Sky and Sophie
  9. "Super Trouper" – Donna, Tanya, and Rosie
  10. "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" - Sophie, Ali, and Lisa
  11. "The Name of the Game" – Sophie and Bill (deleted scene on DVD)
  12. "Voulez-Vous" – Cast
  13. "SOS" – Sam and Donna
  14. "Does Your Mother Know" – Tanya and Pepper
  15. "Slipping Through My Fingers" – Donna and Sophie
  16. "The Winner Takes It All" – Donna
  17. "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do" - Cast
  18. "When All is Said and Done" – Sam and Company
  19. "Take a Chance on Me" – Rosie and Bill
  20. "Mamma Mia" (Reprise) – Cast
  21. "I Have a Dream" – Sophie
  22. "Dancing Queen" – Donna, Tanya and Rosie (over the closing credits)
  23. "Waterloo" – Cast (over the closing credits)
  24. "Thank You for the Music" - Sophie (over the closing credits)
My personal favourites were Money, Money, Money, Does your Mother Know (Christine Baranski was a brilliant comic actress in that song) Lay all your love on me, and Julie Walters was hilarious when she sang my favourite ABBA song - Take a Chance on Me.

I was upset that Summer Night City, Ring Ring and Fernando weren't in the film (although Donna hums Fernando at one point of the film) but their was plenty of brilliant songs to make up for it. And although it would have fitted in perfectly, Knowing me knowing you wasn't in the film, although I was rather glad they used SOS instead. There weren't any songs that made me think "Urgh, they're killing it" as they were all fantastic, and I still don't understand why people keep criticizing Pierce Brosnans singing, I thought he was great - particularly when he and Meryl Streep sang SOS.

Before I saw the movie I was worried that I was going to be watching two hours of crap singers killing ABBAs songs, but I'm very very pleased to say that that wasn't the case at all. They were all wonderful. It's the feel-good movie of the year, and I'll definitely buy the DVD when it comes out. I might even go see it again next week, a friend of mine keeps hinting they wanna go. I'd recommend this movie to anyone and everyone, it was just fantastic.

Although, I don't know why it was a PG, with all the swearing and the innuendo :wacky: I thought for sure after watching it that it should have been a 12A.

He sings about as well as I do. And it's made even worse by the fact that he used to be James Bond. D:

I didn't really think it was all that bad. I'm not a massive ABBA or musical or romantic film fan, but it wasn't an awful film. Generally though, the bigger-name actors were the poorer performers, I thought.

I really fancied watching it til I realised it was a musical or something, I saw a clip on This Morning or something with Meryl Streep singing and wriggling about somewhere and it just made me cringe so I think I will be avoiding this one

The most annoying thing about it though is I was out on Saturday night and Mamma Mia came on like 4 different times, I really got fucked of with hearing it by the end of the night. Who wants to go out on the piss and listen to ABBA? It's family party bollocks

So no, I'd rather gouge my own eyes out with toothpicks than go to see this film at the moment, I don't even care that Colin Firth is in it and he's fit

This is the only musical that I can watch and actually enjoy!

I loved Amanda Seyfried and I think it was Dominic Cooper in Lay All Your Love on me.

It was funny the whole way through and they actually did brilliant work at making the songs really get involved with the movie.

Awesome movie and I listen to the soundtrack all the time!

I agree, Lay All Your Love On Me is fantastic. I mainly watched it for eye candy over Dominic Cooper because he looked fit when I saw the trailer. I got the film for Christmas on DVD and it's still in my collection at the flat.
