Righto, what is the situation here. Lucrecia was pregnant with Hojo's child. Was this a result of artificial insemination for scientific reasons or were they actually a couple?

I'm also wondering were Vincent fits into all this as he bangs on about not being able to protect her... could THEY have been a couple?

Or was she just single and Vincent was just in love with her

hmm. Well I can't remeber that so clearly but it kinda tells you the story of Vincent and Lucrecia in FFVII Dirge of Cerberus so lets see...

Hojo wanted to make an experiment while Vincent was to become Chaos. Lucrecia and Vicent always liked each other but... Lucrecia was suffering too much in her life and she probably thought she will die so I guess that's what she wanted. :huh:

That's what I think anyway (And I know that I'm probably wrong >.<)

My seven knowledge is more than a little foggy but I'd always assumed that Lucrecia was impregnated (Either through artifical insemination or though...the usual method) by Hojo stictly as an assistant/test subject. I'd assumed that this was with her consent.

As the the status of her relationship with Vincent, I assumed they were not-quite-a-couple. (You know when you see a guy and a chick on TV and you KNOW they'll be together by the end of the season, they're just not right now? Like that). After all if it was concentual and Lucrecia HAD been in a relationship with Vincent I'm sure Vincent would have been consulted, said no, and the game would have never happened.

This is all assuming it's with consent. It's a very different story if it wasn't.

Um, as absolutely disgusting as this sounds, Lucrecia actually got it on with Hojo. There's a cut scene in DoC where
Hojo says "so you chose me did you?" and Lucrecia falls into his arms and says "yesss, doctor"
, which was completely euuuuuww but it's true. After Vincent's father died I think Lucrecia lost any feelings she had for Vincent out of guilt, and went to Hojo instead. Therefore the unborn Sephiroth is a result of that.

Vincent was deifinitely in love with her, but they were never a couple, which obviously affects Vincent as a start. He says he failed to protect her because she allowed Hojo to talk her into experimenting on their unborn child in the name of science. Vincent was unable to stop them, and he blamed himself for it, calling it his sin. Of course it's not really his fault because Lucrecia had made up her mind, but I get the feeling he still thinks he could have prevented it somehow. He tried to tell Hojo that it was wrong, and ended up getting shot.

Lucrecia is a scientist and so is Hojo. As an experiment to inject Jenova cells directly into womb to create a baby with what was believed to be the powers of the Ancients, Lucrecia agreed to bang Hojo silly in the name of science. To be honest she could have just settled with me, I wouldn't have minded. Vincent, being the emo that he is, developed strong feelings for her and didn't want her to go ahead with this project. Lucrecia did it anyways and Vincent blamed himself for not protecting her. So off he tots to have a row with Hojo which ends up with Vincent eating lead and geneticly alterd to be able to transform into a purple horned monster. Oh Hojo does like his experiments eh. Anyways around this time Lucrecia also discovers Chaos and the Protomateria. Being the selfish whore that she is, decideds to implant it into a pretty fucked up Vincent without telling him. Vincent is put into a sleep for his 'sins' because he's a gullible emo and hates himself. But to actually answer your question, no they were not a couple at all.

Oh boy, you HojoLucrecia haters are superficial. Why should it be always that only beatiful people get laid? Why can´t sweaty nerd like Hojo get a chick and leave emo hunk lonely?

I think it's less to do with appearance and more to do with the fact that in the game Hojo was shown as one of the biggest womanizing jerks in existance.

Who am I kidding, it's more likely just because Lucrecia can act as a fangirl surrogate and there are far more Vincent fangirls than Hojo ones.

Got it in a nutshell:D

True, there would be no Sephy without Hojo and Lucrecia's relationship. And we do all feel very sorry for Vincent which makes him more appealing-and sexy:)

Lol
Well I think it's like this....Lucrecia and Hojo were actually a couple and Lucrecia did love Hojo...slightly, but not as much as she loved Vincent.
Lucrecia did agree to get the Jenova Cells injected into her in the name of science and Hojo, she did care for her baby you know.
Vincent developed feelings for her and was unable to stop her from going through with the experiment. Blaming himself for not being able to stop her well...he goes emo.
Lucrecia and Vincent could have been a couple but she also blamed her self for the death of Vincent's father. So...now she goes emo as well v.v;;

in the 10th aniversary ultimania book it says that hojo and lucrecia were actually married! =0

on forums.adventchildren.net they have it under the compilation news and updates section and the the Final Fantasy VII 10th anniversary ultimania translations thread. click on that and then vincent valentines profile and it has it on there. :( why did she marry him!!!

You're right- and that is bad:dry:

Lucrecia really bugged me in that you could never tell how she was feeling- why did she marry Hojo? Other than Grimoire's death, why did she treat Vincent the way she did? A lot of people say she had feelings for him, but I never saw it from her. In large, I just didn't get her character>_<

Lol, she loved Vincent more then anyone could tell but she never really showed it when she was alive...maybe to protect Vincent...I mean if word would have gotten out that she loved Vin, then Hojo would have killed him....faster.
In DoC, her love for Vincent does show...a lot. So there's a light ^^
One of the mayor events in DoC is the revealing of Lucrecia's data, which shows that she had always loved Vincent, but hid it.
Then the random words flickering across the screen "I love you Vincent with all my heart" and then "Please don't die on me"
Standing near Vincent made her feel even worse about the death of his father...so yeah >>;;

lucrecia waz a little imature. whenever she came to a crossroads and had to make a decision, she always chose the wrong one. and then shes like whoops!! why did i do that!? i think mayb she felt like she didnt deserve vincents love because of what she did to his father, and trys to convince herself shes better off with fellow scientist hojo. then she sees how badly she screwed up and we find her where shes at in doc, wanting to go back and love vincent instead, but realizing its too late

Thing is that is was never too late, she just never wanted to take the chance is all, she had all these good things in front of her and never decided to take then because of the guilt and such v.v;;

Touche lol the thing that amazes me the most is the fact that vincent still loves her after everything shes done. if i were him, i wouldn't have been so forgiving.

It surely does.

This clears a lot of it up for me. I couldn't understand some of it because her character was portrayed to be so immature, to the point where she would screech a lot. Perhaps it made me miss some of the references to her feelings for Vincent. I actually found her easier to understand in the original game, where it does seem that she loved Vincent and she cares so much to know if Sephiroth is still alive.
