“Lots to see” of FF Agito XIII, Versus XIII “in the future,” says Square [9/17]

Square Enix has told VG247 there’ll be “lots to see” of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII “in the future,” following two videos of the games leaking from TGS this morning.

Demos of the two games are on show at Square’s TGS booth, but are not allowed to be recorded. However, two clips were posted up on a Japanese YouTube channel earlier this morning, featuring the first showing of real-time footage for both. Both clips have since been pulled, although they are being hosted elsewhere. We’re not putting them live for legal reasons.

But Square’s told us there’ll be more to show on the pair soon. “There will be lots to see of both games in the future,” a rep told us, “but for now we’d like to keep footage as a special treat for TGS attendees.”

Square is set to hold a press conference on Versus and Agito XIII in Japan on January 11 next year, where the big blow-out for both games is expected to take place. Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII are both part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series, which also features mainstay Final Fantasy XIII.

Ugh I guess it was expected. Though if they start revealing information on the 11th of January That means we will not have a release date until towards the end of 2011. But I want it in 2011 I just cant wait till 2012. It is too damn long.

"Lots to see" = One or two screenshots that give you little or no information about what the games are going to be like.
"in the future" = We don't know when, because we've completely lost the plot and are being horrendously lazy with these two games.

I'm afraid I don't have much faith in Square Enix anymore, and after how poor FFXIII was, I'm going to want a detailed analysis of exactly how these games play before I even consider considering possibly buying them.

Two 'videos' were leaked this morning? While I do appreciate the fact that SE has finally shown something, those videos were so underwhelmingly short and sparse of any real highlights that I could have blinked once and missed it all.

Of course they will have to show more soon. We've barely seen anything in the last 4+ years (and I can't name any other game in development that I know of being this sly with secrecy for so long) and we're overdue for a lot of information. The TGS videos were disappointing, not that I was expecting anything different, and I hope SE quits hiding in the shadows with Versus and come out with more sometime while mankind is still around.

When January of 2011 arrives they got to show us alot. If they just keep showing us 30 second-1 min clips it will never get released. When I say Alot I actually mean a TON of information. Seriously we need alot of info. As for the TGS trailer for Versus XIII.... It really wasnt that great. They paired it up with agito to make a 1 min trailer which is horrible. I expected at least 5 minutes of a trailer. Of course SE just had to make it 32 seconds...
