Longest FF Boss battle?

just the fight against Penance in FFX took me about an hour and a half (break included). if you include the training and all the stuff needed to unlock Penance, many many hours would be the only way to describe it; with all the collecting spheres and stuff...
 
Penance.
First time took me around 45mins to beat.
Second time around half hour.

Epic battles.
 
Well i have only played FFI II III IV VII VIII IX X X-2 XIII and im currently playing XII. With doing the no sphere grid challenge im gonna say yunalesca in X. she was killing my charecters left and right and i barely had a chance to attack and you cant really heal during that battle.:P
 
Yunalesca in FFX did take a while for me. The first phase I was spending half my turns healing status ailments and healing Auron since she kept using Drain. The second phase, I tried conserving my Holy Waters. I didn't work out well, so I used Pheonix Downs alot. The third phase...well...this is how it went.
*All characters inflicted with Zombie*
Mega Death= Miss
YEAH WHAT NOW?! Then about five minutes pass.
*Two characters dead, Tidus inflicted with Zombie*
*Uses Mega Phoenix*
*Yuna and Auron just fine, Tidus dead*
Mega Death
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
In total, each battle with Yunalesca took about 45 minutes.
(I swear that Mega Death trick got me about 15 times...)
 
Ya thats why you dont use mega pheonix in that battle xD.
I would usually get one character zombied(Wakka cause he had the highest hp besides Auron) get him zombied and keep him in reserve to revive my characters 1 at a time. Oh and btw the best way to go about yunalesca is to not heal zombie and revive your charecters when they die.
 
If we're talking compulsory battles, the second Barthandelus fight from FFXIII took me quite a while. Without using shrouds, he can take a good half hour to eliminate, but providing you know what you're doing, 10-15 minutes is about enough.

Zeromus from FFIV was a pretty long battle too. For me it was a long process of healing, reviving and attacking where possible. I only had Cecil and Rosa for the majority of the battle, but towards the end, Zeromus missed with his main attack, allowing me the chance to revive Kain, who didn't not disappoint.
 
jenova and hojo battle(took 30 mins) grrr this lil fecker pissed me right off and it took 20 attempts to kill this lil fecker! :angry: grrrrr

also i hated doing one other bad guy (Griefer then Griefer and ultermica) grrrrr took 45 mins and she PISSED ME OFF!!! grrr...


Took me 1 hour to do sephiroth last one on ff7! grrrr fecker he is! :angry:
 
The first time I had to fight the Black Waltz #3 was very long. At least 20 minutes it took me, the first time around. FFIX was the first FF game I had played at the time, so I had no idea how to use magics and stuff like that. So I used up about 85 of my 99 potions I had at that point in the game. Just to survive that damn battle. During my second playthrough, things went much smoother.
 
I remember the one in FFXI where it took almost a full day and still couldn't beat it. I'm sure they fixed that boss now and it will still take like 2hrs to defeat it.

Ruby and Emerald Weapon. Take your pick. Those guys are pain in the arse if you can't figure the right strategy.
