So, I feel like I've been training my party forever to defeat Zeromus, but his big bang attack keeps getting at my low HP Members (AKA Rydia and Rosa) I was just wondering what levels other people were at when they beat Zeromus. 0.o
Right now I have:
Kain-53
Rydia-49
Cecil-52
Rosa-50
Edge-51
BTW This is FFIV: The Complete Collection

As for me, I think everyone in my party was between 55 and 60. :hmmm:

It's been a while so I'm not totally sure but I think that's about right. Big Bang did do a lot of damage to all of my characters every time he used it but I was quick enough on the draw with the healing to keep most of them alive. Edge ended up dying at one point and I didn't bother reviving him. :dave:

Just make sure you're only using Cure 4 with Rosa. No need to use anything else. If your HP gets too low before Rosa's turn, you can always use Cure 2 with Cecil just to boost the HP a bit. You can tell when he's about to use Big Bang because he starts shaking before the attack. When you see that, make sure everyone's HP is high enough to survive it. :lew:

Haven't gotten that far yet in the Complete Collection, but when I beat the DS version, I trained my characters to level 75 at LEAST. I used the last several floors before the actual fight to train them that high, considering they were quite challenging for normal fiends. What I did to avoid the entire party being wiped out by the Big Bang was cast the protective spells on them on every round (considering they get cancelled out every round of turns), and had them do Defend before I knew the spell would be cast. That and I had Kain use Jump right before then, so if there was the bad luck that my party would get killed, he'd still be out of the attack range, so once he's down, he has a little time to revive the party. Still, even with this method, the last fight was still challenging. Also, I made sure that the low HP characters were in the back row in the formation . :mokken: Despite that the Complete Collection seems to make the game easier than the other versions (from what I've played so far), you may want to grind a bit more to level up your characters . :gasp:

I've heard the DS version is a bit harder than previous versions. xD

And just to clarify, the version I played was the SNES version. I know the PS version was a bit more difficult as well as the DS version. Not sure about the CC.

Well the DS version is the only one I've beaten out of that and the CC. And I can safely say that the monsters in the Lunar Subterranes were ridiculously harder than the usual common fiends you fight. Actually, a lot of the fiends in the areas are optional bosses . . . that you can fight over and over again if you happen to run into one. Chances are higher to encounter them once you reached the last levels, as are the chances you may wanna flee if your party gets weakened too quickly. :wacky: But if you want your party to level up very fast, I'd recommend training on those levels ~

Lowest I've managed it at was in the mid 40s, but that requires a very specific party setup, and sometimes requires using Edward's hide ability to survive Big Bangs. Normally though, 55+ is a good guideline, though there is still a small chance Rydia can be killed in one hit unless she is 60+, since her health is much lower than other characters at any given level. It is probably possible to win at your level, but you'd need to be lucky and very careful about when you heal, so I'd suggest training your party up to the mid 50s or so. If you're playing on a version of the game that allows character switching, you should just keep Rosa on standby until you notice Zeromus shaking, at which point use Curaja on the whole party. The shaking basically means he's about to use Big Bang, so if you can get full heals off right before it, that will help you survive.
