This woman's voice is just... amazing. O_O I can't stop listening to her, I can get lost in her songs.

Anybody else a fan and know more songs by her or soundtracks she has done? She has a perfect voice for the Disney Princesses, like Jasmine, Mulan and Anastacia. One of my friends loves her too but it's mainly the Disney stuff and musicals we listen to.

I found lots of good videos on youtube. Her voice is really at it's best in this one.. x_x

Yes! Finally someone who knows her. xD She's my ultimate favorite singer ever since I was a kid. She's a filipina and is very successful in the Philippines, although she's made her home here in the U.S. She's been in many broadway shows, like Les Miserable and Miss Saigon, to state a few.

Her voice is smooth and crystal clear, sounding so angelic that I can just listen to her everyday.

Here is one of my favorite one, where she auditioned for Miss Saigon. http://youtube.com/watch?v=sy-A-wyzj7c

Then here's when she was a kid, singing Small Voice, Rainbow Connection, and Tomorrow. http://youtube.com/watch?v=4_3lz13DHTk

(Her voice was cute back then. xD)

This one's pretty good too. She was in a concert and sang a short clip of "A Whole New World", then started talking about her auditions for the singing voice of Jasmine, Mulan, etc. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z6DCy4ejP-Y

My favorite quote from her, "You don't gotta have big boobs to save China!"

Anyway, she could be really popular here in the U.S., but I heard that her manager is actually not that good when it comes to deals.

Hmm, I also love a lot of her Tagalog songs, but that's a different matter. xD

Aww I really enjoyed those videos! xD

I know what you mean about listening to her everyday, I can tire myself of a song but I could listen to her on repeat for hours and still be as amazed by it lol.

She isn't really as popular over here, well as far as I know as only one of my friends is a fan, most others have never heard of her. It's nice to listen to a singer that hasn't completely sold out though, and who actually has talent for once, unlike a lot of artists who have made it really big yet aren't even in the same league as her when it comes to talent.

Oh yes, she has talent, no doubt about that. I just wish that more people knew about her. She isn't really well-known, and I can't fathom why. But then, I suppose that in this modern day and age, her type of songs are not really embraced, especially by today's youth.

I, for one, love ALL her music because it's the type that I typically listen to. Soft, soothing music are probably almost obsolete in this generation, as typically, that is not what the norm listens to anymore.

Here is another song from her that I love. The message is just very positive, and yet poignant. Her voice delivered that message beautifully and tenderly. http://youtube.com/watch?v=N7vzR2m660U

Gah, I missed this thread before it died -__-
Anyway, she does have an angelic voice, Lea singing 'Sun and Moon' in the Miss Saigon audition was amazing...as was her recording session for Aladdin (A Whole New World) with Brad Kane which was simply stunning.
I agree with Jane and Mits though, she does have a stunning voice and definitely should be listened to by more people.

She makes you appreciate a good voice for what it really is and what people are missing out on by not listening to people like Lea rather than some of the music knocking around at the moment by people who 'think' they can sing.

Lea Salonga :inlove:

I think I've seen the recording session with Brad Kane for A Whole New World...I think. Was it included in the Aladdin DVD or something? I think so, but I can't be sure.

Anyway, Disney medleys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIn0W9PZLOY

Thank you Merc, for the link. xD And yeah, I agree that her voice is originally and naturally that good, no need for backup help just to enhance her voice.

No problem about the link, always happy to share my findings :)
As for the recording studio video I only watched it on Youtube, but by the looks of it, it does look like it has come from an Aladdin dvd with the special features in it.

Recording studio video.
'A Whole New World' - Brad Kane/Lea Salonga.

Those last two links you provided are epic. :neomon:

Yay for Filipinas! :neomon:

Anyway, I'd just like to share that she's not as popular here in the Philippines as she used to be, since she does seem to be based in America now.. That's sad..

And it is true that her manager isn't good. She could've been bigger. >_<

Really? She's not as popular there anymore? =[ I guess that depends on people though. I know a lot of actors, actresses, music directors, producers, and movie directors still has a great amount of respect for her. I just watched a 2 hour concert from her on the filipino channel, (Lea - My Life On Stage) and I saw a bunch of actors/actresses, directors, etc. watching her concert. It was just spectacular! She's a great entertainer and a funny one too.

And...I got to hear her sing a recording she did for an animated film a few years ago. xD It hasn't come out yet, I guess, but I'll be sure to be on the lookout for that.

My bad. I was a little slow on the news.

I recently saw her Lea - My Life On Stage billboards and I realized that she IS still a star. :woot:

I also saw her commercials on the local channel.

I heard that she settled down in America already.. And I haven't heard about any schedules of touring or performing, which lead me to believe that she was leading a quiet life now.

Gawd, I should pay more attention. :gasp:

I've never thought to visit this thread before now. :gasp:

I've only really heard of her through various Disney songs but she is indeed rather epic. I can't imagine some of those songs being as particularly popular as they are now if she didn't sing them herself, or if it wasn't similarly replicated.

I'm currently listening to those videos as I type out my post and, Jesus, is this woman God? :gasp:

She'll be doing a play on July 29 here.

As Cinderella. :)

Thought you'd want to know.
