Hey, so I have a nearly two year old acer aspire one netbook. the charger went from working one moment to not working the next. Most likely I'll have to buy a new one but I'm not sure which cords are compatible with the aspire one. :hmmm: I googled "acer aspire one charger cord" but the results that come up aren't the same as my old one. I'm wondering if I can just buy any old charger for an Acer laptop and it'll work.... will it?

I need help :okay:

I know this is random, but did you try taking out the laptop's battery, plugging in the charger, and using it that way? I know it sounds strange, but when my laptop's battery died, I was able to still use the laptop by keeping the charger plugged in and taking the battery out. In that case, you would need a new battery.

However, if it is truly your charger that is messed up, then I'm sorry. Not sure about the compatibility issues with using an older charger or not. xD;

Different types of laptops have different types of chargers.

So an Acer laptop charger for your Aspire would only be suitable for your laptop and not any other models.

You'd need to possibly go into a computer store with your old charger to make sure you get one that is compatible with your laptop.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with different voltage and plug size etc.

I think this may be what you're after:

The honest to God easiest way to get it done and not confuse you is to bring your current cord in (the part with the box on the cord) and say you need a new cord with those particular specifications. I've never really found an analogy that explains it well enough, but I can find a few if you would like to understand what you need and why.

If your laptop is only two years old, maybe contact the manufacturer and get one from them. The out of box cords they sell are usually made of higher quality stuff so they last longer, but are more costly.

Thank you for that link! :ohoho:

Okay, where would I go to get a new cord? Like could I go into walmart or something? :hmmm: And thank you for your help. ^_^

Some Walmart people are worthwhile, but it isn't a nice bet to make. I've had mixed experiences, some really good and some absolutely terribly. If you have a Best Buy near you, try going in there and asking the people behind the Geek Squad desk. Computer specialty shops are also good, but Best Buy is better for the average consumer etc. as they aren't elitist shits as often. :wacky:

Radio Shack and Target may also be an easy chain store to find that can usually help out.

...and no problem! :lew:

Alright, thank you :ohoho: we have a best buy about 35 minutes away so I'll try them! danke again!
