Earlier today, Square Enix announced that its highly anticipated PSP-based Kingdom Hearts prequel, Birth by Sleep, is currently slated for a September 7th, 2010 North American release. Birth by Sleep, which was released to Japanese audiences in January of this year, will serve as as a precursor to its console-based big brothers, with series creator Tetsuya Nomura quoted as saying that the handheld title's story would play an important role in the series' established fiction.
Also revealed were a handful of newly announced voice actors, including Mark Hamill (Batman: Arkham Asylum), Willa Holland (Scarface: The World is Yours), and Leonard Nimoy (Civilization IV, Seaman). Jesse McCartney and James Woods are also featured, reprising their roles from previous Kingdom Hearts games.
