Kefka looks kinda different in Dissidia than he usually looks. He usually has red lipstick on, covering just his lips. But in Dissidia he has purple lipstick smerred all around his mouth. It's just like how weird The Joker looked in The Dark Knight. Why'd they make Kefka look like that? Also, isn't Kefka suppose to have a ponytail?

The Dissidia characters were based more off of their Amano artwork than their actual in game appearance. Personally I think Kefka looks much better in Dissidia than he did in the FMVs of FF VI from Anthology, though I'm not too big a fan of his alternate costume.

And he still has his ponytail, its clearly visible in his EX mode:

There is little difference between his Amano look and his Dissidia look.

Here:

They're almost identical.

What it does differ from is the sprites of Kefka, and his Playstation CGI graphics look.

God Kefka FTW! :holyshit: looks awesome

anyway i know what you mean his óther´look looked like a Mexican guy wearing a cactus outfit

Seeing the original artwork from Amano and Dissidia i do not see the difference in spites it´s hard to see.
I do now know about the ps1 FMA look trough i have the GBA version does anyone have a proper decent screen shot of him?

I found this:

Not his full body though. I couldn't find that.

And his sprite (for anyone who wants to see it) looks like this:

So slight differences there, but his Amano and Dissidia looks are practically the same.

Kefka clearly looks so much better in his dissidia look. I am not really a fan of Kefka but he looks cool and different in dissidia. I guess Kefka's design for dissidia is much better. His design made me play as him more. Cefca is his name in the japanese version.

Except the lipstick. That's what I was mainly looking at.

Yeah, jokerface thing is bullshit.

This is why I never wanted a re-design of Kefka by that flaming faggot, Nomura. :monster:

Nomura's re-design has broken the image that has been Kefka ever since Final Fantasy VI & Anthology. Kefka has always looked way more feminine in Amano's work as opposed to Nomura's.

Nomura just made him look like some generic transvestite hooker you'd find in GTA that put on too much makeup or some shit.

Lol! i lol'ed

but i do not see your point are you saying Nomura made him not feminine enough but to much ? in all fairness i think almost everyone looks feminine in Amano's work ( not insulting him i love his work )

except, nomura had nothing to do with anthology's fmv's, he did however illustrate the character art in dissidia

'Nuff Said. Nomura did an epic fail. I loved Kefka's old feminine vibe and the thin face where he barely had a jaw bone at all. And WTF prancing? when did that happen?

Haha the last part priceless :randompoke:

and my sister totally agrees with you, she's gonna register here now, she said the same exact thing about Nomura's redesign. :dave:

The only thing he really changed was the size of the lipstick though really.

If you look at Amano's original design, and then look at the Dissidia artwork, you will see that they look almost exactly the same in costume design and stance.

I agree though... The bigger lips are probably to make him look more clown-like and more like the Joker. If the lips were thinner then he'd probably be perfect for me...

Well... That said I WOULD have prefered the FFVI PS remake CGI version of Kefka...

I'm pretty sure I said Yoshitako Amano made the character illustrations for FFVI and that Nomura made the character illustration for Dissidia...

despite the fact that I made that post months ago... I still stand by it all the way :wacky:

I honestly still haven't seen any prancing, I haven't been keeping up with dissidia D:

I have to disagree... He entirely warped his face D:

http://pix.motivatedphotos.com/2008/12/14/633648566526590467-dissidiaskefka.jpg is the only thing I can think of to close this statement with.... rofl

Nomura changed Kefka's priceless face to form him to look like The Joker. He completely changed the thin, white faced Kefka we all knew into a sqaure chinned man with giant purple lips.
:gonk:

In FFVI Ps1, you see him like so as Amano's version (clearly better), but with Dissidia you get to see Noruma's mistake at transforming one of the coolest, most badass villains ever into The Joker's double.

I don't really see it. Though I admit the lipstick change affects the whole face and doesn't make it look as good for me.

But:

Both faces look pretty similar, at least to me they do, bar the lipstick.

The eye make-up, the eyes, the eyebrows and jaw shape all look the same to me with some minor changes only.

The only other thing I'd say was changed is perhaps the ears which seem to be elf-like in Dissidia but don't seem to be in Amano's original design.

Nomura gave Kefka a harder looking chin. He looks more like a man than before. Normua, as L said, completely warped his face.

In Amano's art, Kefka had a pointed chin and nose, while Nomura's has a hard, square chin with a hook nose, that is fat.

Tbh The change is not that cool really. He looks much better in dissidia like I stated previously but To mE Cefca is not really of a cool character. Sure he is powerful and all but he is just a clown. As for his changes I like the face better and all. They are pretty much the same to be quite honest. I dont like CEfca that much anyway.

Ah I see.

Well I think those changes are more to do with Nomura's different art style as opposed to being conscious decisions to change the design of Kefka.

Amano was very free with his art and loved flowing, smoother lines so it made more sense for him to extend things out in curves. He was also a lot better at drawing characters like this I feel.

Nomura probably just shaded the chin too much really. The shape is pretty much the same, it just looks more enhanced by the dark shading.

I have to disagree with that. You don't like Cefca, so you are biased. I love Cefca, so I am biased. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Also, Cefca isn't based that much on a clown more of jester and...um, I think it started with a "P". Give me a few to find out the name of it lol

Noruma loves to over shade things, he in love with it. I guess I can only see the major key differences between the two....

It's called adapting. You take the original art concept of any character and place it in Dissidia and it's going to look like shite, I wasn't a big fan of the changes to Kefka, Tidus, Zidane etc but you get used to it considering they're designed for that particular style of game and its design, take an original design and stick it in Dissidia it'll look dire and take a Dissidia design and put it in the original FF games they come from and that'll look crap as well.

Either way, Kefka has only been designed to suit the game >.>
