Just bought this game

So, I just bought this game because I love square/final fantasy (And I like disney too!), have a psp, and heard some good things about it. I know it's a prequel, but my real question is will I still be lost? Should I have played the first game before getting into this one, or does it matter? I was worried that playing this game will ruin plot elements in Kingdom Hearts I and II when I get around to them, but I also figure that I'll be more unexpecting of the events in this game from not having played the others. What do you think?
 
You haven't played KH1 or KH2 yet? I don't think this will ruin the game for you, but it really differs from each person. I felt it doesn't, it could be different for you.

But no, I don't think you'll be lost, especially since you haven't played the other games. Once you play it, then KH1 and then II, it will make sense.

I say you play it, because what it tells you (from what I hear at least. I played it, but I didn't really think it spoils anything) offers some interesting details that will help you understand KH1 better.

Plus its worth it for the awesome Aqua :3
 
Thanks! I chose Aqua too, I love her design and reeeeeeally like her voice. Hopefully I like her battle capabilities just as much! :P Thanks for the info, I'm definitely gonna play it, especially since KH1+2 are a lot more of a pain to buy now then BBS. (If Aqua hadn't been in it, I don't think I would have bought it. I'm shallow like that.)
 
Well all i can say is Good luck the final hidden bosses are a bitch to beat but good choice useing Aqua ((my favorite))

Its a great game,just wish there was more worlds to explore =/ I finished it in 20hours per story to get 100%

KHI will be hard to get, or at least I don't see many copies of it.

She won't disappoint you! :) At first, I thought she was going to be weak and well, dumb. But then I played her and it was great. She's fast, powerful and great with magic and is even smart.

And I agree. I loved her voice, thought it matched her very well. Unless you have the Japanese version? And if that it so, I wouldn't know about her voice xD

And I too, wouldn't have bought the game if Aqua wasn't in it lol
 
Hidden bosses eh? That's good! And I'm loving the positive feedback about the character choice! I have the english version, I have no idea about her japanese voice acting to be honest, like you said her english dub suits her very well. Thanks again for reaffirming my decision to buy this :P
 
lol well if you wanna fight the hidden bosses your gonna have to max your guy's levels because Im useing a lvl 80 Ventus Ive beaten the first hidden boss but barely...the 2nd is like the first on steroids its stupidly hard 1 hit can instant kill from either ((Course im playing them on hard/proud mode so...ehh))
 
Yeah this game was a win for me. You'll have fun with Aquas style although Terras was my favorite. Vens story was so-so until the very end when it got really good.
 
tip......... make sure u like using magic for aqua.... and btw she's my top character as well

on the hidden bosses i beat the 1st one at Lv47 (Aqua is the best character for the 1st one) and Lv59 for Second (Anybody and A.A. is right.. 2nd one is the 1st one on E :P)

i was on standard mode XD
 
I'm really loving this game, I beat Aqua's story, going around and getting every treasure/sticker. I also started Terra's story, who by comparison seems dreadfully slow D: Hopefully my opinion will change though!

not to be offensive but you have no skills man, i amnaged to beat the second secret boss with terra on 54 and ven on 59 and it was pretty easy, i still haven't gotten around to do it with aqua cause honestly i don't really like her.

she looks good don't really care much for the voice but it suits her but honestly i found her pretty weak, i actually found ven as the stronger of the two though I geuss thats because i fight with a balanced command deck and a mix of attacks and commands not just mindlessly mashing triangle and dodging most of the time till they reload then doing it again.

soz for double post but it won't change your right hes stupidly slow and sometimes stupid just make sure you keep it as the normal dodge option ok

Same here. Terra was my favorite. His final boss was hard though. Word of advice, not to spoil anything, but Aqua's story was the tail end of every world. And if you play as Terra you can unlock a secret keyblade in a certain extra world.
 
A secret keyblade, for Aqua too? And also, is there any reallly good places for grinding levels? aside from the mirage arena?
 
the best place i found was to just stick to neverland griniding between the mermaid place and the end where aqua learns double jump thats a really good place for all three all though if you are bothered to get 4 mega flares and have no fun at all levelling then terra has a spot on skull island but you need exp chance and walker and must be on critical hp and can't collect anything but you get 1.4 k exp but after you finish the game fully then you hollow bastion is the best place for terra and ven aqua can't for bvious reasons, same thing as with terra on skull island but in hollow bbation where you vs'd trinity armor walk to the middle run out then mega flare twice make sure you have all prize related abilities of so treasure magnet lucky strike hp priz plus and d-link prize plus must be off and you should get 2 k exp easy but boring

i'm not saying you do but with aqua you will most of the time be doing that as her melee attack is really weak and her attack with skills that don't have an element attached are meager as well so your best option is get high level spells and using them or powerful spells since you can then have 4-8 spell skills including curaga which you need but with ven mix it up commands both attack and magic and melee a lot and with terra mainly attack skills and melee but have a curaga or two because he is slow as hell and never speeds up unless you d-link ven then he becomes the best character in the game for melee attacking based play as he is powerful and extremely fast with attacks with high hp and defense all thos put together = epiclly awsome win of epicosity

^Thanks a lot! I'll try it out! I've just completed the last of the three stories, I went Aqua, Terra, and Ventus. My Aqua is level 39, and I'm gonna level her up some more, beat the last boss again and then try it out. Any tips?
 
tips for the secret bosses..... ok XD

1st - get seeker mines for aqua, these work great on this boss. I can't remember the two things that you have to merge, i'll google it and get back to you. then just spam mines, the boss should go down in no time if your a decent level

2nd - 4 cures, 4 surge attacks such as thunder surge or fire surge, then dodge him to hell and when you see an opening, attack with surge. you MUST have last chance and second chance, or one hit and your dead if your like in the 60's you could survive one attack.

seeker mine is mine shield mine square together

1st- with aqua 4-6 seeker mines and the rest with poitions because using cure skills will cause him to cure as well also have second chance and once more and dodge like crazy when he attacks when he is far enough set up some seeker mines wait for them to blow up on him if they do then if he hasn't caught up or attacked lay some more

ven have two tornadoes and the rest potions just in case daodge first attacks and get as far as possible then turn around and when he is half way up your path use tornado if you get him just leave him their and just use the second one by spamming triangle once that one runs out hit him and you are done

for terra the only success i had was getting behind a rock if i survives the first attack make sure its the big rock that just appeared have 8 strike raids equipped get behind the rock and keep lock on when he follows you rock acts as wall between you and him when locked on strike raid goes through rock and hits him if you lose lock on lock on again and make sure he stays behind the rock and you should win

2nd- as person before said but use thunder surge it has wider range
 
Thanks guys, I beat Vanitas Lingering Spirit. All I have to do now is defeat the last guy, and the very last boss roster of the Mirage Arena. I found Iron Imprisoner IV to be a piece of cake, so, hopefully all the bosses together will be easy as well? I just have to finish the last two annoying circuit-racing levels and I can face them. -.- This game is so addicting!

here are some tips for the last guy :)

1. get last chance and second chance... without them.. your gonna be dead :)

2. equip surge attacks :) i found these to be the best attack to use with him... also have as many curega as you like... the more the better.. i used 4

3. when he has disappered... don't bother attacking.. just dodge for your life... there very little chance your gonna hit him

4 a big for the love of your life DON'T USE TERRA, if you do use him... your gonna have to win by pure luck because terra can't dodge some of his attacks
