Between Japanese animation and traditional American animation, which do you enjoy more, and why?

Warm regards,
~The Very Legendary Wullfe!

Japanese animeation.

I just think that over all it's done much better and looks better. I like the story lines better too. Not that all of them are awesome but most of them I prefer to American cartoons.

Japanese by far. The storylines are generally much more indepth and there just are a wide range of genres and anime targeted to different age groups, so you can find something that fits your tastes ^^.

Yes, japanese animation I think far outstips US animation because of that ^ fact.
Plus, theme songs sound way better in Japanese than in English.
But maybe that's 'cause I don't know what they're talking about.....

Japanese animation is 10x better than what we Americans come up with. It's more unique and original in my opinion.

Japanese animation is what inspired me to draw what I draw today. :D It's simplistic compared to American cartoons like The Justice League. Not to mention its geared more towards the everyday people. With some American cartoons, it makes me wonder if they're trying to advertise steroids sometimes. XD

And no, don't give me the DBZ example. I don't watch it. (Besides, the version we get has been cut to hell and back again. The version they air in Japan has loads of swearing, blood, and topless women walking around.)

Japanese animation is best. It's even better subbed and not dubbed. Sadly, once the Americans get their hands on a great anime series they dub it badly. I want to find out who's voices they use and shoot them.

YA. It's the funiiest when america come up with their own version of anime. it just come out distorted and disabled. Love that. :eek:P

Japanese because it looks much better and American doesn't seem right

Meh, anime's alright. But, in my opinion, it just can't compared with the cartoons I grew up with in the '90s! Long live Earthworm Jim, The Tick and Freakazoid!

P.S. Spoooooooooon! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> bishonen

They can only be compared in threads like these of course! :P

Naturally, there's not much else that both share.

Now, don't get me wrong, while I am a big fan of the Japanese Animation, America has some wonderful animation of it's own. Growing up, I was a big fan, and still am, of cartoons such as, "The Thundercats" "Batman" "Gargoyles" "The X-Men" "Darkwing Duck" and "Spiderman", amongst others.

Warm regards,

The Thundercats is pretty old.
Japanese animation makes fresh ones it seems everyday.
Production-wise, Japan wins as well.

Don't get me wrong, American animation has some highlights, but Japan pretty much takes the cake.

American animation nowadays makes me feel dumb when watching it even for five minutes. Take the crap that kids watch everyday, such as the stuff from Cartoon Networks. Seriously, there is nothing knowledgeable to gain from that at all. No wonder my half-siblings are kinda dumb for their age. -.- No offense to them, but so true.

Japanese animation is the best by far. It's simplicity and yet realistic storyline and character designs is what captures my attention. I can sometimes relate to the characters and know exactly what they feel because it's THAT good. The music is a nice touch as well, and you can hear and see a lot of emotions from the characters due to talented Japanese voice-overs.

That is true, the music bit.
Not bashing on American animation music, but Japanese is by far superior in that field as well. I mean, some of the scores that american cartoons have nowadays seems so cheesy, especially when they attempt to make a do-over of the Japanese original score.
