Is Rinoa Ultimecia?

She fused with him out of desperation. Ultimecia warped her body to win. She was ready to do anything to come out on the other side the victor.
 
Has anybody read? You have to address all sides of it. Just because there's one possibiliy doesn't mean it works when other points have been shot down. Rinoa's not Ultimecia. Game over, end of discussion. Is it that hard to believe Rinoa's innocent? -_-

Sorry Oli :sad3: I just found that theory to be ridiculous, but I was suprised when they brought up some evidence that could lead to me being wrong about my initial thoughts on it.

No because people have way to much time on their hands and have to make a theory about anything they are fixated on.
 
I believ the theory especially if u rlly pay attention and put together Ultimecias final words and at the end Ultimecia gives her powers to edea ( in the past) and edea gave hers to Rinoa....also in the end video u see Rinoas face fade to Ultimecias.

Maybe she's alter somehow and killin' her past self will allow her future evil-self to be not...dead... :gonk:

I'd rather not be yelled at by SKX >_< But I kinda see how Rinoa could be Ultimecia. Given the running theme of time/paradoxes/loops, I think when they go back through time compression after defeating Ultimecia, Squall was possibly dead in that little clip when we see him in a desert or wherever, then Rinoa turns up. Then she took his ring, grieved (PUN), slowly turned insane, twisted, evil, etc and became Ultimecia. Ultimecia is shown with black wings or black feathers surrounding her, or something, while Rinoa's got those white wings.

Then maybe the time loop was disrupted by something, maybe Ellone being angsty and using her powers on the group, and the time loop gets undone, and the Rinoa we know doesn't become Ultimecia.

Meh, no matter what theory you come up with, it's all crazy-ass stuff.
 
XD I won't yell! It's just I'm extremely passionate about this game as I have played it more times than I can count and that it was my first FF weighs very heavily on me.

People who come up with all sorts of theories about a game like this are kind of ruining the experience for me when they come up with all kinds of theories such as these. That's why I rant! I'm sorry if I seem a little jumpy but for anything FF8 I take very seriously and Squall's Dead/Rinoa's Ultimecia theories are not really what the people who make the game intended for.

I doubt they would make a sad ending for what was to be a romance story. I also doubt that they would set up the heroine to be the enemy of the man she loved. The whole Time Compression can be taken in so many ways, but I don't think it was meant to. As a game/story creator, I wouldn't want to leave hidden meanings which woulld confuse my audience. Which is why in FF games what happens happens. I guess that's supposed to be the whole Fantasy behind Final Fantasy, but as I say I feel passionately about this particular game.

Hey don't worry, I'm not too intimidated :) I really love Final Fantasy VIII too, it was at least one of the first I played. I hate sad endings :( Yay for happy romantic endings XD
