I guess I'll just take this chance to say something. I've seen how more and more threads have popped out regarding the whole 'fitting in' the forums issue and I'd just like to share my experience. It took me a year--a whole year--to have people I can really talk to and consider friends.
I started out, like every new member, not knowing anyone. And I can tell you, here isn't that much different than anywhere else. If you've come to make friends, you mingle and speak and relate.
The reason why others relate better or know more people is because they are active--meaning they are here regularly and participate in the forums, whether it's in the shoutbox, posting, GFX, RP, literary works, drawings, etc. But as you can see, those people who are well-known are those who have been active for a long time.
It's like playing an FF game, how can you level up if you don't actually play?
(by which leveling up means "being better known" and playing is "getting active".
Couldn't help explaining it myself. >_>)
In any case, I'm glad to hear you've decided to give it a third chance. Stick around, hope to meet you eventually.
