All I can say is that all girls are different and will react differently. Some will be more assertive from the get go whilst others will need abit more work on your part. If they start running away looking scared then you can be pretty sure that your not getting anywhere however.

Human beings develop differently and react accodingly to every situation in an unpredictable way. Therefore, it all depends on who can't resist being separated because a lot of pride and whim can surely block each other's reasoning. Just a matter of time before either of you come backs begging for a second chance. If not, then she was not the best for you and you can meet someone else. If she (or he to avoid any sexism) realizes too late what has been lost, than that's his/her shit to deal with.
