Is 8 realy the best?

I do believe that 8 is the best one they have made yet. Some people may argue that x2 is the best because the grafics, but is a game really all grafics? i think not. I love number 8 because of its good storyline, and unbelievable characters (well some anyway).
 
that is all based on opinion, for instance i hate x2 and ff8 and 7 have good battle systems and 9 had good fmvs whereas 10 was a downside but the ability system was okay and 12 was good because of the challenges
 
im not sure who you're talking to if they say that x-2 is the best final fantasy, but that person needs to play the whole series since x-2 is probably the worst final fantasy ever made. FFVIII is one of the better final fantasies but its definitely not the best, which games have you played? if you haven't played them all yet you'll probably find a new favorite after playing the rest, but hey your opinion is yours and your entitled to it, this is just my opinion.
 
I believe that VIII was the best for me. I loved the Junction system to an extent and the characters were nicely done. It's a good game.
 
I like FFVIII the least of the series VII 'till X-2. I don't know why, really...there was something about it that didn't appeal to me. The whole atmosphere of it...wasn't as attractive to as the others.
 
FinalFantasy8 is the best game that they had made not 10 not 7 noy 9 not 11 not 12 or 13 or whatever they come out whit now. no matter what, I'll stell love finalfantasy8.

ive only played 8, 9, 10, 12 and 8 is my fav. i supoze i should try some of the older ones 2 see how good they are, but im confident i will be with 8 all the way.

in my opinion x2 is the worst yet, it compleatly changes battle system, and that really messed me up.

Normally I wouldn't say this, but you should give VII a try as well. Good game, great story and all...

I know what you mean though, I've played just about all of them and FFVIII still remains my all-time favorite as well. Game play, Characters, Brilliant story, Music and I love the battle system. Yeah, I pretty much loved everything about this game.

I would definitely put that down to just "some" people. :P

Seriously, whoever thinks FFX-2 even comes close to being the best FF really probably wouldn't know when a good game hit him in the face. FFX-2 wasn't just a bad FF game but a bad game in general.

In my opinion, FFVIII isn't the best although it is one of my favourites. FFVII or FFIX in my opinion are the best.
 
Heh...bunch of VIII junkies. It seems like I'm a rare case on here who actually doesn't like VIII that much, but likes X-2... The joys of being different.
 
Aeons? In VIII? I think you're referring to GF's, or you're talking about X. :P

I would rate VIII as my #3 favorite FF, because of the storyline really and the graphics, not much else for me.
The graphics were splendid, the storyline was intriguing, but it's the cliche statement -- the character background -- that killed it for me. But other than that, this was an awesome game. ;)
 
Out of the ones I've played, IX and IV are my favorites.

I started off liking VIII but it got kind of boring around disc 2. Both Squall and Rinoa irritated me and there were far too many damsel in distress moments. It had up and down moments after disc 1 but what really killed the story for me was the whole orphanage thing. It just seemed very contrived to me. I also found the game to be too easy.

I did like the card game though and it had cool sidequests and great music. I never played X-2 but I watched my brother play it for a while and it didn't look remotely interesting.
 
VIII has been my favorite at one point or another. It really depends on my mood, because if I'm currently really into one of the games it's going to be my favorite until I get into another. VII has been my favorite for the longest, but VIII is amazing, too. I'm playing VIII right now, been playing for a few days and already 20 something hours into it. =X I love the atmosphere.

lol You're not the only one who doesn't like VIII. It's pretty easy to find people who dislike VIII honestly xD I'd take X-2 over VIII anyday.


Oh, and I'm sorry but there are too many of these threads in this section >_o Try this thread if you want to continue to discuss how you either like or dislike FFVIII.
