XBox Infinite Undiscovery

I wasnt impressed as much as I thought I would be. There is alittle bit too much to take in I think, well for me anyway, battle wise. The graphics and voices are great, just the amount to remember can be off putting.

I'm a huge fan of RPG's, but I got IU and I think it is downright horrible. I traded it in yesterday and picked up Ninja Gaiden II instead. Anyways, I don't care about the horrible graphics and VO, but the battle system was tedious in my opinion, it just didn't work for me. I'm in love with Tales of Vesperia, though! Then again, I'm a fan of the whole Tales series. For those of you who like IU, good for you, but I personally hated it.

After all the hype Iam starting to agree with you. I can just about read the text on the screen, voice acting isnt the best, theres far too much to remember in and out of battle. I myself may trade it in as Im not impressed as much as I thought I woudl be.

Yeah i seen a trailer this morning on TV and was shocked. But to be honest Im glad I got rid. But its £25 now in HMV lol.

I still did not get this game but will very soon. It looks amazing right guys or is it nothing like final fantasy, personally I think the last remnant will be better.

In my opinion, its nothing like Final Fantasy. Youre best looking at some videos on Youtube and some reviews before you make your mind up.

I still plan to get this game sometime, but maybe after I finish either The Last Remnant or Tales of Vesperia. I just hope the battle-system would be fun...or that at least the storyline and characters will make up for anything that I find as flaws.

Infinite Undiscovery and Last remnant are 2 totally different games I think. Both battle systems are good but in iu YOU CAN RUN FREELY and attack. SO Infinite Undiscovery and last remnant which is better? IU looks like better gameplay but last remnant looks like better story.

my only beef with IU (infinite undiscovery) is not being able to control any other character other than cappell, although the A.I is pretty good and usually does a good job of following orders.

the game is definatley not an FF alike, but it does well as a game of its own, you can see it does borrow some things heavily from the FF franchise which I wont utter here as they are spoilers.

for me disk 1 was a pretty mediocre affair, but the game begins to shine in disk 2 when cappell becomes less whiney and a lot more kickass, I especially love it when he becomes dark and broody as the voice actor actually captured it with him being really nasty, barking orders at his comrades rather than his usual polite way of asking, and being all together angrier..

another thing....why have they spelled they uber special attack that sigmund and cappell share grin vellesti when they both clearly cry out "Grand Vellesiti" (basically grand velocity, due to it being an extremely powerful arial attack and one of the few that breaks the 20k damage mark at mid levels) when they perform the attack? :P

yes i really do enjoy pummelling foes/bosses into submission with 3 slash, dancing rapsody, eternal refrain, grin vellesiti combo for a ludicros amount of damage xD especially when capell is being broody!

I was actually suprised the a title published by a square enix house, ACTUALLY put a couple together properly too!

aya and cappell clearly get up to something when they are confiding in each other, there looking into each others eyes, aya leans into a kiss with him, the screen blacks out and when they return cappell goes on about getting all the pent up stuff out and aya having the "yea i did somethin dirty" look as they both rejoin the rest of the group

also to note, the special unlockable dungeon you get and the extra difficulty unlocks (hard and infinite) can keep you playing for months...perhaps years, the special dungeon is difficult even on normal, imagine trying to beat it on infinite!!

I was interested in this game before i saw screen shoots of the battle system. Maybe it's just me, but i like turn based battles, instead of real time ones. Maybe i should give real time battle RPGs a chance. I'm just not fond of having tiem to think and having to move on the fly and such.

well youll be suprised the combat system is suprisingly fluid and not overpowering like you would think it could be (blocking takes good timing and reflexes, bosses have unblockable skills and are immune to being knocked down and they can really put the hurt on you if you arent managing your party members carefully by giving them poor orders such as free roaming attacking when it would be better to focus on a target instead)

I was a bit sceptical myself when I first played it, but the more I play it the more I enjoy it, completed it on norm difficulty so far, just doing the secret dungeon (which is rock solid especially one of the boss fights which ill not tell you as it will spoil the whole thing) before trying the game on hard and finally infinate!

the music is foot tapping too, damn shame I cant get seem to get hold of the boss fight track anywhere yet...it really fits well with the epic boss battles xD

I just finished IU a few days ago. I truly did enjoy it. The story line was a little cliche, but it sucked me in anyway. I loved most of the characters (especially Edward and Aya/Capell). My only complaint was that I had to listen to everyone shout out their attacks, lol. I felt bad for my roommate who had to listen to Capell ask for help constantly during the final boss battle. She finally shouted from the kitchen, "Will someone help the damn guy!?"

lol Yeah.... I'll be playing it again for sure.

I picked up the game yesterday and I'm a tad bit disappointed with the battle-system. I'm especially not liking the whole sheath-your-sword-when-you-run idea. And also opening treasure boxes now becomes such a hassle too. Take your sword out, slash the treasure box open (oops, but sometimes the item inside might break), sheath your sword, pick up the item. Or wait, maybe you don't have to sheath your sword after you slash it open...I forgot. Still, the task is quite unbearable sometimes.

The 'connect' system is quite dumb too in my opinion. I was trying to connect with Aya to shoot those blasted barrels and sometimes it takes quite awhile to set the whole thing up before you manage to shoot...coz' before ya' know it, enemies are right beside ya' hacking away. And then you lose control of the connection when you get hit, and it just turns into one big mess. The beginning of the game basically required that you use it a few times and it was very annoying. It took me like 7 tries to get past that Ogre in the beginning of the game and shoot all the barrels (just so I can get an achievement). One thing's for sure - this game will make you go back and retrieve a bunch of items you've missed along the way.

One more thing...the menu. Gotta make sure you open your menu at a safe place, away from the enemies. Otherwise, while you're taking your sweet time looking for that potion, the enemies will sneak attack on ya'. So it might be a little hard to open up your menu during battle - best not try it.

Now aside from that, I love the game so far. :D It's pretty interesting and I'm enjoying the two characters introduced so far. Not really far into the game yet, but damn, I haven't died that many times in the beginning of an RPG game, aside from Lost Odyssey. These games are getting harder and harder...

Can't wait to see what lies ahead though!

I beat it not to long ago, but when i go to the seraphic gate, i get to the 3rd to last boss and i almost kill him every time and then he manages to kill me every time.

the one with the blade-staff?

with him your better off moving away from him when he uses noble art and have your party on Free for all attack mode since the black spheres will increase his damage output with magic...

for the fight i recommend definatley taking 2 healers with you, your best bet is michelle and eugene, as michelle's astrovoid and eugene's geoclaw will do substantial damage to him...good luck :)

Thi8s game is really pissing the shit out of me. Unreadable disc everytime I manage to get somewhere important. Its just so fucking stupid!!! Oh also Edward in his possessed form is so hard. I used percipire to reveal hikm but I can not even attack him with Capell. Only the other party members can attack him. Also wtf How do you put the new characters in your party. Like Domenica for instance is a secondary type. Also how come some of the characters like Kiriya can not be used in the first row? Is there a way to get them in the first row? If so then how? Aya is wak as hell and so Is Capell. Aya is level 10 and Capell is level 12. This is disc 2 and Im that low. Every fucking enemy I kill with Capell I can not seem to level up. Also I missed 3 fucking acheivements including the barrel of lulz one. How the fuck are you supposed to deliver Aya to the village without getting hit? Jeez this game is fucking pissing me off. But the storyline is awesome.

Have you been wearing the monks soul charm on them?!?!?

If you have been that will explain there low level as the monks soul charm....STOPS THEM GAINING EXP! The monks charm is mainly to block others getting exp, when you are concentrating on leveling a character (boosting a low level up to the same as the rest)

The Secondary characters are more of story characters and are non main-battle characters, they can fight in secondary and tertiary groups, but they cannot be in the same group as Cappell for story reasons.

The delivery to the village is also easy if you move quickly and use the pillars/mobs as a shield and keep weaving as you run, if you run in a straight line you will get hit and fail the achievement.

The reason you CANNOT attack Vermified Edward with Cappell is because of something explained after you defeat him, but for now stick to playing the Percipere song and staying out of harms way with Cappell, make sure to have your party on FOCUS command to bring him down quicker...

I managed to get those achievements (Barrel of Lulz) and the one where Aya doesn't get hit. For barrel you had to go back after you kill the ogre (don't go through the door that leads to the forest yet) and the soldiers. Go back down and shoot the barrels. That's all there is to it. It helps that while you're running from the ogre, you're also slashing the soldiers that way it reduces their numbers by the time you reach the upper level and make things easier for you. It took me like 5 or 6 times to do.

For Aya, well that was easy. Just stick on the back while you let the others kill the enemies. Then it asks you to save your game - do so, because the dragon will try and hit you with his fireballs and you gotta dodge it. If you get hit, reset it and try again. One tactic I used is that when you start, head to that mountain where the dragon's on top of, and stick to the wall while making your way to the village. Try to move Capell around a little, going left and right. Because if you just head straight, the fireball will definitely get ya'. This only took me 3 tries.

What I hate so much is Capell's constant "SOMEONE, PLEASE TREAT THEM!!!!" in battles. Even when there's only other one person in your party. Only briefly does that phrase wittle down and become more tolerable.

There is NO lip synching! I cringe when I see a character's lips continuing to move for 4 seconds after the dialog ends!

I hate Leonid in every way. His voice. His motives. How he looks. How cliched he is. Thank God he got what he deserved on the Moon.

Too many characters. Only Capell, Aya and Edward stand out to me. Vic was someone I couldn't stand!

The beginning was challenging. Not good if you're just starting and you die a millionth time to that stairwell-jumping prison monster.

The scene
between Capell and Aya by the end was quite interesting. Aya always had something for Capell.
