This will probably apply more to those in the EU or PAL region than those in the US, but I feel the need to ask: what is your stance on importing games that you really want from other countries? Are you content to wait the extra weeks/months/years for the game to come out in your region, or are you instantly online when a release date is announced in a language you understand? Or even when the game is out in Japan?

Where I can, I import the games that I want badly - being neglected by the gaming industry in general pisses me off immensely, and I don't see why I should have to wait. To me, the little extra I'll have to pay for postage and whatnot is well worth not waiting what will probably be at least four months - sometimes it amounts to the same price I'd pay in shops, thanks to the exchange rates. More of my DS games are from the US than are from the UK, and I expect I'll end up importing some PS3 games next year as well.

If I have to wait longer than a month for a game that is already out in the US, I'll import it without hesitation. I suppose I'm just impatient. Although I draw the line at importing Japanese games - I've never been THAT desperate.

Am I the only person who finds waiting for games that are already out in a language I understand elsewhere absolutely intolerable?

Ive imported lots of games in the past cause Im impatient lol. If I really want the game, Ill get it. I use Ebay and its mainly DS and PSP games. Going to get the Persona and Person 3 remakes from there soon.

The time I got annoyed bout a game was Lost Odessey. I WANTED it and wasnt prepared to wait. So I ordered mine and it had Japanese voice acting included on it as well as English. So I was as happy as a pig in sh-sugar XD Im terrible when it comes to waiting. Thats why I looked up to see if I could import FF13. No luck :(

Thankfully the FF titles shouldn't take as long to be localised so I would happily buy FFXIII from the store rather than importing it across the Atlantic :ryan:

Being in Britain and part of Europe means we have to suffer the most when we are waiting for certain games. It takes a blinking lot of effort to localise the games in the various European languages- despite the fact the UK speaks English- believe it or not :rage:

I've only ever imported one game before- and that's Disgaea 2 for PSP. I just thought- screw this, I need something to play on my PSP now! It's supposed to be out in spring for Europe though so importing it wasn't actually necessary.

I've never imported anything simply because I'm not THAT eager to play whatever it may be.

Sure I can't wait to play it, but I guess I'm more patient in that I can wait for it to get to a store near by first.

I'm not as into gaming as I was in the past so I don't feel the need to have a game ASAP. >.<

if the game is available early,il just import it. i have no issue with it as long as it works :mokken: i tend to get my games online anyway as it tends to be cheaper. i know i had FFIII & XII:RW quite a whie before they xame out over here from china i think..and they were in english... wy they feeltheneedtomake us wait when they couldeasily bereleased. oh i got iv imported as well,a bargain at 1p 8F

I generally don't care about importing, I'll happily wait if need be. I think the only game I've imported was the God of War Collection (GoW and GoW II remakes for the PS3) simply because I won't have time to play them after April or so and want to know the storyline before GoW III comes out. Plus it was on Ebay for £38 so it was quite cheap. Really, I'm not too fussed about importing unless it'll be cheaper on the whole. :wacky:

Well, I'm hesitant to play a game I don't understand. I admit I kind of have a pre-determined state of mind that Japanese voice actors are better than English ones, but that's not gonna make me shell out extra money for a game I won't really understand. And that brings the second point - money. It's hard enough to get money to buy games in my area as it is. Shelling out extra dough to bring a game in over seas isn't really in my means.

However, if there's a game I really want, and there's some sort of compromise (like it will have English subs) I think I'd consider an import. I remember that the first Ace Attorney game for the DS, in the Japanese version is had a English sub option, and I was looking around to see if I could find the Japanese game by import or something.
