As you read from the title, you're probably wondering what I mean. While this is my first post, just to let you know Final Fantasy VII was the first game I had ever played. At age three I would watch my dad play it and be mesmerized by it. One day I found myself loading it up and playing it. I cannot recall this, but my dad does. I would go on to play the game for many years trying to beat it. I eventually did beat it.

Final Fantasy VII made me want to create games, growing up I would think of nothing else. The methods in which the game told the story brought it above any film I would see; it was masterful something that will never be beaten in my book.

I had aspired to make something of the same quality of Final Fantasy VII. It frustrated me growing up how I couldn't achieve this, I tried hard from a young age and just didn't have the skill. Eventually I got to the stage I'm at now. I didn't give up and began working on a project with my close friends.

Without further adoo, I present the game to you now. While it's no where near the level of Final Fantasy VII, it attempts to achieve the same style of storytelling.

The game comes with a 'Read Me' file documenting its controls, but here they are anyway;
W,A,S,D to move the player.
Shift to sprint.
Q/E to use items in your left/right hand.
CTRL to view the items you're holding and view your compass.
Left/Right arrow keys control the camera, note that some times the camera is disabled.
F opens and closes the journal while the up and down keys navigate it.
SPACEBAR is the action key.

me and my brother were talking about making an MMORPG based on the world of Final Fantasy 6would anyone play a game like that? We have job classes, transport, guid bases, and races. We need help from thier.

our Final Fantasy game

No fees if we can get it made but right now it's a working progress id post what we have if i knew how to.

What are you making this with? Gamemaker? If so that's some impressive work already! I played around with making 3D games a little bit, but I'm no programmer and the code overwhelmed me before long.

No we have only done a story board and list of jobs we haven't done any of that real detailed stuff yet be cuase he is looking for a job and im no programmer

so i need other people to help me with this

what kind of help would you need, i'm currently working towards a game design degree at university, I tend to work best with storyline/concept design, but I do know some programming and can do basic 3d modelling/texturing

You realize that would be quite a bit of effort in order to actually make a full-blown MMORPG based on Final Fantasy, right? First of all, using the Final Fantasy intellectual property to make a huge game would be illegal without consent of Square Enix. It would take a team of hundreds in order to make it compare to other big MMORPGs like FFXIV or even FFXI. It sounds like it'd be a really fun concept/dream, but honestly, unless you're the CEO of Square Enix or a creative director working on the Final Fantasy team itself, I don't think this will get anywhere, especially if you have no programming knowledge or any idea how game design works. Just be realistic.

Plus, you kind of hijacked EJRobertson's thread.

we have a story classes and a general idea we just don't have the skills to make the game our selve and i really just wanted to see if anyone would play it if it got made into a game thats all really and i didnt mean to jack this guys thread and i apologize for doing so.

Sorry for the bump, I've been away for quite some time.

But yeah, I'm making it with game maker, and at times the code does get quite overwhelming.

I don't know how I'd achieve the 3D cut scenes I want to make, does anyone have any tips?
