I think they cant screw up with KH cuz KH is a whole other style of game.

Yes, I agree with your first point as well. The name "Final Fantasy" is big enough that the name itself sells. Hence why there are all these spinoffs with the name "Final Fantasy" on them.

But, I don't see how this connects with KHIII though.

Well, interesting fact: Tetsuya Nemura, director of both KH and KHII is currently directing Versus XIII, a Final Fantasy title. He said he'll get on the project after he's done with Versus XIII.

EDIT: I was looking for a reference to his statement on getting back to II after he's done with Versus XIII but I couldn't find it. i hope this will give you a better idea though:

I also read the same thing on another site. Although my son is now restless. I brought the PS3 specifically for him to play KH3 after he saw the movie sequence to KH the key wars. I have spent more time and money on it myself than he has. He is the biggest fan of KH I know. He is 9 and loves it. I must admit, I do like the Ideology behind it. Especially as I am a FF, and almost all things square, fan at heart!!

I wouldn't take what Nomura said a while ago to be fact, whilst I have no doubts when he said that he honestly meant when Versus XIII is done he will start on KHIII. But since then Versus XIII has been mentioned as a multiplatform title which would delay KHIII massively and at least 2 other Kingdom Hearts titles so...

We can almost be sure that it may not come out this year at the earliest. There are titles that are being worked on that were stated to be holding KHIII back, and Nomura stated that there are 2 more titles in the KH series that are coming as well. Since we can assume that KH3 is the final title, that would mean that they are coming first, further halting KH3, assuming, of course.

I'm just curious what the Hell it's going to be about. I mean, how much farther can they take the series? They're already doing prequels and interquels which is usually a sign that the creator is out of ideas. But, I still hold out hope for the future of the games though I personally think they should let the series end where it has.

I don't think Nomura is out of ideas. Birth By Sleep, Days and Coded all have been building up to what KH3 could be about. They have also been keeping the fanbase happy (questionable with some fans) while he finishes off Versus.

In Birth By Sleep, Terra, Aqua, Ventus and Eraqus all go into some sort of torment. Same could be said about Roxas, maybe even Axel and Xion (Xion came from Sora and returned to Sora, she should be happy but maybe they will bring her back) Coded was about the mysterious entry about 'saving them from their torment' and begins to build up to KH3.

Hmmm, Versus is nearly finished. KH3 is in it's conceptual stage. Say Versus gets released around late 2010 or early 2011. Give them time to make KH3....err mid 2012? maybe longer, game developers are spending ages on games now.

Well Tetsuya Nomura is working on FF13:Versus. But afterwards SE will be working on smaller KH projects such as Kingdom Hearts 3D and Re:Coded before doing anything big with KH3.

Yeah it'll be a while till III he's currently the whore of Squenix and he's one or to more KHs to put out before III as well. Presumably he has a plan in mind it always seemed that he had the story set out from the start and the success the games have gotten have allowed him to develop it.
