i always play without gambits. but i think i should not because gambits could be nedded. plz tellme what it is recommended for me.
you play with gambits? i need your opinion
thanks buddies.
i would say you play with gambits because if your characters are low on health if you have gambits on one of your characters could heal them without you doing anything
I sometimes fight monsters while eating and stuff. Gambits are a nice feature, because your characters will be healed and buffed without you doing anything.
Gambits are easy enough to set up and can be a major help at times, saving you serious button mashing in the heat of battle. Also, instead of re-casting "libra" all the time, you can just gambit 'Self - Cast Libra' and it'll do it automatically every time it wears off. Also you can cast protect magic in the same way etc.
I find that turning your Gambits off can become far too overwhelming when you reach the later parts of the game. When you have to constantly heal party members, or even if you like to tank someone, you'll have to do everything manually and, when you're fighting stronger monsters, it's definitely going to get more difficult.
Though, if you're up for a challenge, I don't see why not.
oh you should definatly play with them
im acually doing them right now, as i type
they are very fun to expiriment
best to set them up, bring out one person, go somewhere easy and see if it works
the game is so elaborate and so amazing when you set many cool gambits to diffrent charactors. or you can have good gambits on all of them.
the best gambits are:
foe: hp lowest - attack
foe: charactor status = HP critical - balance
ally: status = KO - Arise
foe: charactor mp < 10% - syphon
these are just a few of the thousands of things you can do. make one person a technique person, or another person an arckane magic person, or someone a magick person.
gambits are very fun! but the BEST thing to do it turn battle to "wait" in the options screen, turn gambits OFF, and to each command by youreself. or with the same intention, have only one gambit "foe: nearest - attack"
and do the rest by youreself
I hated them at first but omg Id be screwed without them, altho you do tend to just sit back and watch, depends how much you like getting stuck in I guess
You don't get quite the same stisfaction for kicking someones arse if your barely contributing to the fight though
they were quite annoying, but I wouldn't have survived w/out them. but I like the fact that they added an extra depth of strategy in the game. when you set the gambits correctly, your team can practically be invincible! and you tend to just watch the battles, but its like watching a football game, seeing your plays work out for better or worse.
so to answer your query, yes you should experiment with gambits. if it doesn't work for you, I suggest you use gambits for healing/support and you control attacks.
i agree with bambi, the gambits removed effort from the game which made it easier and therefore less rewarding, you can go off and eat whilst you fight a boss, it limits strategy as the gambits keep the characters fighting and keep them from dieing which means you win really
YAY for Gambits, i couldnt play without them. i always use them and hardly need to tell my characters what to do as they will just do what needs to be done, i just override the gambits if my characters are low on health or i want to do something in particluar. gambits make the game much easier to play and i think it would be much harder trying to control 3 character at the same time as the game is all in real-time, gambits are definatly worth it
