Simply, I've come to a seemingly impassable "Dead-End" were my self-teaching Photoshop seems to be failing, badly (don't mind the pessimist mood, someone special to me is ill and I somehow feel it...like weakening me...this resulting in triggering the other "terribly real" mood), so I decided to go to the basics again. I've read a few tutorials and tried, but it seems I can't get this right. Now first goes first; I have two questions.

Question #1:
What the hell are C4Ds?

Question #2:
After answer is provided for number; Where can I find C4Ds?

Basically, they're just abstract renders that has various cool effects. Mark uses a lot of C4Ds if you noticed his background. THAT is C4D. I use them on some of my sigs too, like the Yoshi signature (but I always turn the opacity down so it's not as noticeable), although I tend to stick with brushes. Sometimes I'll use both though (C4D and brushes) and mess around with it.

I just google C4D backgrounds and usually it gives me links to deviantart.

Here, try this: http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/applications/cinema4d/?order=9&alltime=yes

Edit: Oh haha, Scrutator beat me to it. Yeah use that link.

Download as much as you can. I created a folder solely for C4Ds, separate from my brushes. I've seen people who has HUNDREDS of C4D's downloaded on their computer...I only have less than 15 C4Ds as I don't really use them as much...and if I do, it's always buried behind the other effects that I have. I like it much better that way. You can experiment with C4Ds and how and where you want to place them in your sig, so have fun with it!

EDIT: One thing I must say though, when I try downloading C4Ds, sometimes it won't work because it's a .rar file and for some reason, my laptop doesn't recognize those. o_O Compressed folders works with me though. Or sometimes it'll let you open it with Photoshop automatically when you download the file.

Rar files have to be extracted with winrar or some kind of application that unzips compressed folers. :neomon:

In summary, C4Ds are pretty things you put on your signature that work well with distortions that stretch them and they should be set on screen or lighten. Some other blending selections work well with them, but those are the most commonly used.

Hope that helps. :)

Yes it does, and I feel bad for not asking before instead of going all by myself. Old tendency to do things by myself, you know.

In the requests section, you can find a link to a forum where 6 packs of 100 C4Ds are located, those packs are well worth downloading =]

And Derek explained the rest xD

I absolutely love C4Ds, they are probably my first port of call when making a sig.

I have around 300 downloaded C4Ds, collected over about a year, but now I tend to make my own (have around 50 self-made ones so far), since you can tailor them to specific need.

One thing I will mention is that some popular C4Ds are way overused, and you may find that the sig you produce (which includes it) looks very similar to numerous other sigs around the web.

If you do manage to get the Cinema4D software, I really do recommend learning how to make them. C4D can produce a hell of a lot more in terms of various effects than photoshop.

I have in mind adquiring Cinema 4D, as soon as I get the money to buy the software. :neomon:

I am aiming to make my own C4Ds, so for now I'll work with what I can find
