Not so much a toothache...
Do you ever get that feeling where your gums feel like their being tickled very badly? My bottom/front teeth are feeling very tingly lately. Any idea what the cause might be?

My wisdom teeth ARE coming in, but...when my upper wisdom teeth came in, I didn't have that problem. =x

I remember when my wisdom teeth came through when I was on holiday two years ago. I remember not being able to eat properly. God, I hated it. All I got to say is good luck when they come through. It's gonna turn nasty for ya.

Has anyone ever had a tingling sensation in their teeth? It feels like it's at the root of my bottom front teeth. It tickles very badly, and it has been for days. :'(

awww sweety hope you feel better <3

My wisdom teeth hurt like hell when they started coming in, but I got them removed top and bottem before they did any real damage, but I've never heard of anyones gums ever feeling like tickling really bad. Maybe it's an infection? I don't know, if the problem persists, I say see a dentist fast! you don't want to lose your teeth!

I know! I was supposed to have my wisdom teeth removed a while back but I didn't have the money for the operation. They said they would need to do surgery which would cost more.

My top teeth have already come in somewhat...sideways...they are poking the side of my mouth. My bottom teeth have not come in yet.

God it's annoying. :'(

You have to pay for an operation? Lucky us in the UK, the NHS is a free perk here, which attracts all the legal (and illegal) immigrants. A tickling sensation? It might be the fact that you could have an infection. Do go see a dentist if the problem persists.

I hope not I hope not. An infection is the last thing I want.
Yes, unfortunately an operation without dental insurance costs around $400-500 dollars. =x

Yup, in the good ol' states nothing's free. Not even dental care. Mine are growing in on both the top and the bottom. I haven't had the chance to sign up for medical benefits at work yet. A few months ago mine were hurting like a bitch and I was popping ibuprofen like a junkie on a binge. Stopped now, but I know that if I don't get em' pulled the pain will be back and I'll require that same more expensive surgery if I haven't already held off for too long as it is.

One guy at mustangworld.com was posting about how he let his wisdom teeth go for so long they got infected to the point where they ended up having to drain fluids from his throat. Involved some big expensive trip to the hospital, and he was forced to stay home for a week which lost him his brand new job that he'd started that very same week.

I certainly hope that doesn't happen. I do have sideways wisdom teeth, but that isn't the problem. I tried looking it up on web MD. I used searches like "tingling teeth" and "tingling gums"...but no success. =x

Well, I went and called the dentist office I used to work for to see if anyone can give me some answers and I hope it helps

He gave me 3 reasons why

1. Some of those electric toothbrushes if you use them do that to your gums

2. If you pick at your gums a lot

3. It's because your wisdom teeth are trying to come in

Though you still should try to go get that looked at. Who knows it still could be something different and the longer you wait the worse it can get but at least it sounded like he didn't think it was an infection

ugh, good luck dealing with your pain. I've had Orthodontists and Dentists tell me my Wisdom teeth need pulled, but fuck it. I'll live with them, I'm in no pain and no need to get rid of them. They can get their money elsewhere, not from me.

As long as they don't hurt and they aren't messing up your mouth there is no reason to remove that no matter what the dentist tells you. Some come in fine and others don't

I have that with my molars. They don't stick out an awful lot, nor is it noticeable, but I can feel them. My wisdom teeth came out nice though, and had no issue with them... fortunate me. :monster:

As for tingling teeth... uh, can't say I've experienced that. o_O

Well, my wisdom teeth never did come through. They grew sideways, impacted. It was a mess. I had to go into the hospital to get them out. It required surgery.

Anywy, the gum issue could have to do with something else. It would probably be best to get it checked out.

I hope you feel better soon, Rhea.

Hmm..well I looked at a few different sites online and a few different doctors said that it may be due to teeth grinding. Incidentally I just spent about 2 solid weeks doing some hardcore teeth grinding in my sleep. It's getting better; I'm just sticking my tongue between my teeth to stop myself from constantly grinding them during the day. ^.^
