I'm doing the Diablos hunt and I cannot do anymore hunts until I finish this one. But to do this quest I need the site 11 key. However, this key is aquired during the Antlion hunt but I haven't even done that hunt yet....When starting the Diablos quest the petitioner told me to get the site 11 key from a certain 'residence'. I talked to the lady there and she said she lost her children in the Lhushu mines who had the key.

Am I supposed to follow this lead or what? Because I looked everywhere and they wern't there.

Thanks.

If I remember correctly you gain access to more hunts as you advance in the story, maybe you just need to advance in the story until you gain access to antlion.

Been a while since I played though so I might be wrong :monster:

Well the antlion is a rank V hunt and I'm already doing rank VII and VIII hunts...

Haha don't worry. I forgot Montblanc also gives out hunts...I always check the hunts on the posted boards in inns. I wonder why like 10 hunts wern't posted there...and only Montblanc currently offers them.

Anyway, this can be closed now.

Well I had a read-up on it... Would you happen to be at Mt. Bur omisace? Apparently you need to be there to unlock the antlion hunt.

Depending where you are on the story, different hunts become available, so even though you've been doing rank VII hunts, this doesn't necessarily mean the lower rank hunts will be available, as you'll have to access certain areas in the story first.

You'll get one of the keys as a reward from the Antlion hunt I think it is, and the other key you get from the Phon Coast from the guy who fell from Bhjuerba if I remember rightly.

Hmmm I do not even do hunts are hunts even that important I know you get more as you advance through Final Fantasy Xiii but what do hunts give you more espers? The only hunt I did was the tomato one lol.

This belongs in the Help Booth so I'll move it there for ya'. ;)

Nah, just get you rewards like gil or weapons (or some rare items to sell in the bazaar)

Only way to get Espers is to find them and fight them.

I'm not sure of the variables involved in unlocking new hunts, other than simply grinding through them all as they appear.

If you've read the petition for the Antlion hunt, and have spoken to the woman and accepted the hunt, you will have obtained a key (I think it's site 3, 10 or some such) from her. Once obtained, travel back to where you ran from Ba'Gamnan in the Lhusu Mines and pan the camera to the south, where you'll see a wrought-iron gate. Use the key on that and it's a straightforward path thereon.

I'll take this chance to remind you that you can open the massive gates from controls further in the mines, beyond the location I mentioned. It'll make the journey back easier, particularly if you utilise those mine karts.

You'll come across two children and they'll inform you of the Antlion; simply proceed to the next screen and battle the Antlion however you like.

Now, in order to get to Diabolos, you'll have to obtain the site 11 key. Upon defeating Antlion, you'll be told that they dropped the site 11 key from Bhujerba and that it'll have washed up on a shore, far away. Warp to the Phon Coast and hike up the hill at the Hunter's Camp to find a "fallen Bhujerban", who's fallen from Bhujerba. The key will be shinning next to him.

Once you use the site 11 key on the locked gate in Lhusu, travel to the north-west of the caverns to get to Diabolos.

There's one final hunt in the Lhusu mines,
Gilgamesh
, but you need to have defeated him on the bridge, first.

Just to answer that, it's mainly down to areas you've accessed in the story. For example you can get a high ranked hunt in an area you've accessed in the earlier parts of the game, but a less ranked hunt in a stronger area which you do not access until later on, if that makes sense.

It's all dependant on where you are in the story, new hunts become available after you've witnessed certain cutscenes or arrived in certain areas.
