this might sound wierd but i just hate beating them because then i know the story's over and all i can do is mini games that will ultimately lead me to nothing worth while. and i usually love the endings so i just want more and more and more and i know i won't get any. anybody agree?

Well just think of it this way - once youve completed the game you can focus on all the sidequests that you never had time to do in the main game :) and uber-train your characters ^_^

Yeah, I agree.
Some side quests are quite rewarding, like...erm, chocobos.
It opens up possibilities that open up to yes, uber training your party.
Plus you get really cool stuff like KOTR in VII.

I used to feel like that once though. I'd try to keep the game going as much as possible until I got bored and decided to just finish the game as it is.

agreed. but it also feels good when you replay them.. going back to those parts you didn't understand well and knowing how events would unfold.

I understand where you're coming from. My very first FF game I completed was FFX and when I faced off against The Final Aeon and then Yevon, saw the ending, then realized it was over...I was quite saddened by the fact that the story had come to an end. A great game and one easily sucking me into it, I loved the ending, and wished it woulda been 2X as long so I coulda kept going.

Well personally i think the FF games have the longest playing time and best replay value in a game.i still havent beat the Dark Aeon on FFXand still have to beat Omega Weapon on FFVIII also i just love relivign the stories

well if you're looking for an FF game that doesn't end so quick you should try 4,5,7,8 or 9. for me 5 is the best one. it's not that very long or short but the ending is really great. I don't know about you but finishing it definitely didn't bore me for some reason. it's just perfect. ^_^

I know what you mean. I always get really attached to the characters and I get sad when the game is over. I got really attached to the characters of VIII especially after the part when they all talk about being in the orphanage. So you're not weird cause I feel the same way

I know what you mean by this. I always feel the same way every time I'm on the verge of finishing a good game - Final Fantasy series mostly.

However, I would only feel this way when I have spent over 70 hours on a game and have done all or at least most of the sidequests offered in a game. In doing so, I have a big accomplishment on my shoulders, and that makes me feel a little sad since I have to say goodbye to the characters, the world they were in, and all the other cool features.

I suppose the longer you play a game, the harder it is to let it go.

playing final fantasy games only make it better and better time and time again hence why so many people get them so quickly

(hence the term bestseller and final fantasy being in the same sentence)

I guess that's what Squenix was thinking when they released all those spin-offs.
Getting attached to the characters is something that they milked thoroughly.
But well, it's always good to have some closure like in IX.

it does get very annoyin when u realise the stories overr, il usually then go back and complete all the sidequests
