Ever had one of them moments where you make such a n00b mistake?

I started FFX last night, sat through all the crap at the beginning, killed that Sin boss that only uses demi, so, didn't heal, il be reet I thought. Finished the battle, RAN RIGHT PAST THE SAVE POINT and into teh next battle where you have to knock that thingy of the ledge. Im low on hp mind, but still thinking, nahhh Il be REET, even when Tidus died I was thinking, just another hit or....two and it'l fall off, when I finaly decided oshit, I better heal, I DIED

I GOT THE GAME OVER SCREEN AT TEH START OF THE GAME

Im so humiliated :ffs:

I run past save points loads too :gasp: Like that battle before Seymour Natus. At least you don't have to do a whole load of shit all over again.

Question. What boss that you have to knock off the ledge? The only one I know like that is the Chocobo Eater..
 
Nooo it's the beginning of the game, I literally died in a fucking tutorial of all things :ness:

It was that carriagw thing, that falls off the ledge when you are still in dream zanarkand
 
Yeah Bambi, that is pretty crazy. I think when I first played it, I did the same thing just because I didn't know the game well. But hey, it happens to the best of us. Good to see you're starting on FFX again, I will be soon as well!

That is pretty annoying, I did something similar on IX, but I was more stupid. Once that plant thing has grabbed Garnet and Vivi and you go back for the last battle before you escape the forest. Yeah I was stealing for ages, steiner dies, I'll be ok, keep stealing (forget what it is you get though), Blank dies, oh shit! better heal. Dead. No saves from then as I thought I knew what I was doing. Total tool.

Apparently FFXIII is supposed to be the hardest FF title so far....you're fucked. :wacky:
Anyhow, I think the only stupid things I do really is just forget to save which is somewhat annoying because I always forget to save when I need to go out or something and I then the next save point is aaaaages away, although there are times I forget to save and die. That's about as stupid as it gets for me. :wacky:
 
When I first got FF9 I didnt use steal once thinking oh screw potions I can buy em.. And I went through the game with boring gear instead of all that pretty stuff I could of got from a boss. It was all just nuke nuke nuke to me.
 
Can't possibly top my out-of-nowhere usage of a regular potion to my white mage in FFI. Oh, she was at level 70, BTW. Against Death Gaze. Pretty much failed at life and had no healers. :'(
 
I healed everyone from the Zombie status in the Yunalesca battle...completely forgetting that at the beginning of the 3rd round, Mega Death is instantly cast...killing everyone who isn't zombified...
 
Sucks Bambi! lol. I always take it easy in the start, save and take everything slowly. Later on though, when I feel I'm strong, I just go and fight and screw the save point!
 
Oh dear, At least you weren't that far into the game am not really all that bothered as long as i save it before i die but Getting Killed by random mosters after you've levelled up about 6 levels is annoying
 
Oh man,that does suck! Like everyone else said,atleast you weren't that far into the game. Now you just gotta sit through all the opening again. Which can be annoying when you've just seen it. ;(

I know on FFIX when I first played it,the part where the plant keeper takes Garnet and you have to fight it while she is in it...well I didnt realize you were actually suppose to heal her. She died and it was game over for me.

Also I remember playing it for my cousin. We were before the third boss fight with Beatrix. I,for some unknown reason, had forgotten that you were suppose to hit the twin with the magic during the fight with Zorn and Thorn. So my party was very beat up. I know Steiner and Zidane had really low life and Freya was about dead. Vivi was dead. I had no tents,no phoenix downs, and hardly any potions. You can not buy anything from the save moogle so I was stuck with what I had. She killed me everytime. My people were very underleveled. I never did beat her. I ended up starting the game over from the beginning and playing from there for my cousin so I could make sure I had enough stuff. We've always called that a "Beatrix Situation" so now when we get stuck in hard to beat places,that is what we will refer to them as. ;p

I did that the very first time I played FFX. It was embarrassing when I saw the save point there the next time :omg:

Also was playing FFVI earlier this week. Had been AP training for some time when I got into a fight with a slagworm. Instead of fleeing, as I had been doing, I thought "It only has 13k HP, I can kill it easily" but NO. It used two sandstorms in a row and slaughtered me D=
 
Yeah, be careful with Slagworms. Each physical hit brings on a Sandstorm, and sometimes it'll do two in a row. Best thing to do is to either Banish it, or cast Ultima until you are strong enough to kill it with physical attacks.
 
mine is probaly in FF12 where at the beginning of the game where u hunt that tomatoe.. i for sum god forshaken reason went after the dinosaur and well...u no the rest. o and also dieing at a save crystal that is bugged :S

Hahaha im quite bad for goin into battles with low hp. Il think to myself, ach iv played this game umpteen times il be fine, then i run into a marlboro or something then think....OH shit xD
I remember this happening a lot on the island closest to hell in FF8. I only had squall alive and he was on very low hp (down to yello) i couldve revived my characters before i got on my ship but i thought, nah! its only a few steps away. 1 step later BOOM ruby dragon, needless to say....i died >_<
 
Hell I'm a one for a challenge but I know I've done some stupid stuff in my day. The worst is when you completely forget about real time combat.. and you leave the game thinking you will be fine.

When you come back all your characters are dead, since the enemies still attack even when you are not there.
 
That sure was a real shame ^^' I think it actually happened to me too the first time I played. Didn´t notice the Save Sphere... I´ve gotta say though... it was a strange place for the first save point :/
 
My idiocy continues; I forgot to get the destruction sphere in Besaid, so I had to reset, THEN I couldn't for the LIFE of me get the wall to open up to let me at it, I was just running around for about half an hour randomly inserting my Besaid sphere in the holes wondering wh ynothing was happening...then I rememebered the glyph sphere in the door.... :ffs:

THEN, when it came to learning the Jecht shot, I just...didnt input the commands, I was sat looking at the screen wondering when I was meant to be pressing the buttons, by the time I realised ho wthick I was being, Id already fluffed it, so again....reset :ffs:
 
See on my first playthrough, i didnt have a clue on how to get the jecht shot. I didnt understand what it meant when it said press the buttons in the direction of the thoughts, so i totally missed it first time aswell. I dont think it was til someone explained to me that i understood how it was done >_<
