you are still taking the life of another person. if someone punches you in the face it's ok to shoot them in the head and kill them? that isn't self defence. you cant right a wrong with another wrong.

that makes much more logic.

I think american people have had a lot of fear and stuff drilled into their brains so they actally do think they have a 50% chane of getting raped or shot every time they leave the house. Being scared means they are very illogical about things like owning guns and the like

Yeah I agree. It's not the case with the entire population but there are a few who (with the odd vindication) genuinely believe there's a high chance someone would for a reason unbeknownst to them attack them at random be it in the street or in their homes. You can't even really blame them the blame for me would lie with the institutions who perpetuate this unwarranted paranoia.
