HUSTLER offers Case Anthony a job....

I agree with Garland on her being somewhat unemployable. Even if they believe she's innocent, it'll attract bad press. If her boss doesn't want to employ her how can she prove it's because of her past? I guess it's a toss up between getting a low paid job or selling what little dignity she has left.

It was fun to see all the heavyweights knocking heads

better they knock heads than knock boots I guess.
rotfl.

bah. It's obvious to me that the Hustler with her in it would be a huge seller. Not just in North America but in Europe and Asia.
Heck the guys that would buy it could care less that she's a child killer.
They just want to see her nude body, particularly if they followed the case and saw all the guys she attracted as well as the hot body contest she was involved in.

I wouldn't buy it.I don't buy sex stuff because I am dried up old guy with one foot in the grave.

Young guys with their hormones still flowing will feel differently I am sure, their moral protestations aside.

She should take the deal as she's unemployable and if she wants to survive she has no choice that I can see.If she were innocent she could do Oprah or Barbara Walters, tell the truth and clear the air and be rehabilitated.
Since I don't believe she is innocent I expect she knows how guilty she is as well and so she can't afford the honorable ethical route of Oprah or Barbara but will be forced to accept Flint or some similar type deal.If she wishes to survive.

I say "so what?".

I haven't bothered to read the first pages of the thread because I'm assuming (perhaps unfairly but I doubt it) that it's full of the same "blah blah I hate her" sort of rhetoric I've come to expect from threads regarding Ms. Anthony.

That being said, I could care less what she does with herself in the interim after her exoneration. Hustler obviously stands to benefit because she is notorious/attractive and the publicity the magazine will get whether she poses or not is good for business. She stands to benefit for obvious, money-related reasons. Seeing as she's going to have trouble finding gainful employment because most people hate her...she might as well take the money and run, so to speak.

It's not as if she can be crucified in the public's eyes more than she has already or anything.

I couldn't agree more.

It basically is, and its plain annoying how people think they know the whole story because they watched what the news reporters let you see.

Yeah, since she's innocent, it really shouldn't matter what she does now, right? Plus, she's not terrible looking.
I just love it how you people were told she was innocent, but choose to hate her anyway for no real reason. :/ Beside, whether or not she poses nude has NOTHING to do with murder. maybe she wouldn't have got the offer if she wasn't so notorious and hated, but hey, its you people that gave her that power.

I recall my ill-fated law school days

I couldn't agree more.

with some dread.

Being found not guilty doesn't necessarily mean innocence. It just means the jury didn't believe the evidence was sufficient to find her guilty.

I don't hate casey.I just happen to believe she's guilty of murder. She could come live in my town if she wanted and I wouldn't bother her at all.Others might but not me.

shrugs.

Any power she has comes from people's wanting to see her.Since I don't want to see her, she has no power over me.

smiles.:bored:

This thread was not really built for the foundation of determining if she is a good or not person, or innocent or guilty, that is all perspective and opinions as far as any of us are concerned. So unless you know or not.... no ones opinion on that really means more then another.

It was meant to discuss the businss ethics of the huslter company. "IMO" I pointed out that hustler seems to seek to profit from a person who got famous by ill media, no matter the cause. I belive this to be slightly "fucked up", in a sense where I think people as a whole have just gotten used to capatalist nonsense... there are a million hot girls out there without this gross publicity, so why should we now idealize it for money and sleezy kicks. At the risk of sounding a little preachy I think its morally unsatisfying example as regards to our nations ethics and reputation. So that like I said is my opinion.

On one hand I can agree that many people wouldn't care, especially if you don't come from the specific country, or care about it. I mean America's got enough immoral things going on, I just hate to see another.

I will point out this thread had some activity in a short time. So I guess look no further to find the people who still want to say something about it, including yourselve's. even if you posted that you did not care, you cared enough to post it.

It was due to sheer boredom...

that I posted.
I get bored easily.

As for as why the thread was started..since I believe you started it sir Roland then you knew why you did so.

Whether the thread was restricted to that ..aka to Hustler's business ethics remains to be seen.

Ethics such as it is a matter of opinion. Is there any true white aka good or black aka wrong ethics that isn't based upon someone's opinion ?

shrugs.

We''ll see what happens with it eventually.

I agree it is all opinion and perspective. That is what a debate is to me anyhow, the free exchange of opinion and ideas. It was not really restricted to the individual subject by any guidlines I guess. However, this is the opinion I sought out for others to see how they percieve the situation.

It is obvious that I got quite a lot of different legitimate opinions (aside from those trolling), and I am glad for that. I don't start a thread just to hear my own. I don't think of this as being wrong but simply understandings others perspectives better.

Morality is all opinion, like you said.

Purely hypothetical (and sorry for the sexism but it seems pertinent to the thread), but I ***guess*** I'd find her attractive. It's hard to say at this point, something about potential baby killers that's a turn off.

Let's not kid ourselves though, Hustler isn't offering her 500k to reward her for her antics, or what she allegedly did. Hustler is offering her 500k because there are millions to be made by Hustler, if they manage to sign her. That's because there's plenty of people who want to see her doing those things.

In that sense, her "morality" is indifferent. I'm not sure why it's a newsflash either, but here's the newsflash: porn industry strives on shock value and degradation. Ever since the modern times of pornography were established through VHS sales, the entire business has been to some part, built upon exploiting people. Why this is any more or less disgusting, I don't really know. Infact, it seems more honourable than your average run-of-the-mill pornography, because at least she'd be compensated adequately.
