How Would FF Characters Handle You Breaking Up With Them In A Relationship?

Break ups in relationships. They are never easy. It's not you it's me. I need more space. All the usual stuff.

However...

Which FF character do you think would take the rejection badly? Although the idea of being the other half of a FF character seems amazing.
What if it doesn't work out? How would you break up with them? Would Cloud handle it better than Vaan?
Would Ashe put in the darkest dungeon or would Fang show what you were missing out on by giving you a flash of- Yeah, well...

How do you think FF characters would handle rejection?
 
Well even though we were just talking about this, I'll just say here that I don't think I'd have the guts to break up with anyone with a face like this:

But what if she broke up with you? Would you try and stay friends (DON'T! Don't ever try and stay friends with people you were intimate with. It can work, but most of the time it means a slow lingering death instead of a clean break in your relationship. If you can't accept people's feelings are going to be hurt, don't enter a relationship in the first place!) and cause more rows than you had when you were lovers?
Or would you fall out. Be miserable. And then stalk her through social media, never having the nerve to contact her?
Or would you say "Well good luck to her!" and then move on. Try not to compare but to be grateful it happened and never look back?

(And you won't believe how long it took me to realise that last sentence was the right way to go about this. Although if you are still friends with your ex... What are they, your handler or something? Ditch the deadwood!)

I object to that philosophy! ;) I am friends with four of my exes. One of them is one of the best friends I have (we dated for 4-5 months when we were 17/18), and the other three are good friends I catch up with every now and then to check that they are okay. I have no concerns at all about them being with others - I cheer them on and keep my fingers crossed, and they do the same for me.
As for a Final Fantasy character... I don't imagine any of the FF men would handle it very well! Except perhaps Zidane, who would move onto another lady, and Balthier, who would turn to the skies. :lew: Tidus may handle it too... He tends to remain as upbeat as he can. Yes, he gets upset and angry about his dad, but who wouldn't in his shoes? His response is fairly mature towards the end. Cloud, Vincent, Squall, and Snow would probably become self destructive, in different ways.

Locke x Celes I'm not sure that I can see them working out, but if I was their friend, I would never tell them to go quits on their realtionship, because they're been through so much together, like alot. I could never do that.

Cloud x Tifa, these two as seen by Case Of Tifa fight and disagree alot and sometimes it leads to Cloud leaving and Tifa being heartbroken. I might be a little " hey, does that guy seem like he loves his motorbike more than you Tifa hun " ? But then she might smack me in the face. ;A;

Squall x Rinoa, these two seem like they're fine by relationship standards, Rinoa seems to be completely into Squall and Squall is willing to die for her, seriously. I would only tell them that they would need to break if, if Rinoa starts hanging around Seifer again, or Squall and Rinoa are fighting so much, that it's causing more sorrow than good.

Zidane x Dagger, haha no, these two are so married. Since Garnet is a royal, I think that they would try and push marriage on them, not long after Zidane's return, to try and continue the Alexandria royal line. Divorce in those days wouldn't be possible either, you couldn't divorce a King.

Tidus x Yuna, like Locke x Celes these two have been through alot of shit, so it might be hard to suggest a break up, if things go rotten between them. I would maybe tell Lulu about it, since she's the calm, serious, wise one, and see what she says, instead of my own crappy judgement there.

Balthier x Fran, eww yes. Balthier is a horn dog and wouldn't mind flirting up other women or maybe even spending the night with them. I would tell Fran that they're better off as friends, and no more than that. I wouldn't mind smacking Balthier either, if he ever gets close to other girl while they're dating. I hate him though.

Serah x Snow, haha yes. Serah here is a man, a better man for you called Noel ! :dave:




 
I would be too scared to break it off with any FF woman in the since they would just kick my ass. Aeris would be the only one who wouldn't scare me at all but she would be so nice about it that it would break my heart even more.

Lulu: I think shes dead sexy, but I'd be afraid to break up with her. I'd send a Moogle to break the news and then hide, because she'd light me on fire.

Tifa: Would drop kick me in the face

Ultimecia: Very hot as well, in a weird way. Also a sorceress. Also would not have a choice to break up with her.

Fang: Would not spare the rod

Garnet: Chased out the castle by a drunken Steiner

Rinoa: would run off and cry
 
And to take this thread on a darker spin... how would you handle FF characters of your own sex trying to chat you up?
Obviously, the only answer is to leave the party/nightclub/road in the middle of nowhere and run! Run very fast!
Imagine how creepy it would be if Snow gave chase!! "Balthier! NOO!" would resound around the world to be drowned out by the soundtrack.
How far could you run from Barret?
