How Old Were You...

When you played your first Final Fantasy game? The reason I ask this question because I'm currently a very proud mommy. My 5 year old little boy is playing his first Final Fantasy game. He's playing FF1 on my PSP. He's been doing it a lot today and it's just so downright cute! He's really doing pretty good for being only 5. I'm so proud of him! So my question is, how old were you when you played your first Final Fantasy game? I'm curious to know what the youngest might've been. xD
Get him to play FFII and nearly every other FF game will seem a breeze! :gasp:

I was probably 7 or 8 though I know it was FFVII I played first but it was 1 or 2 years after it came out, it seems a little weird playing it on the PS3 knowing I played the same game nearly 10 years ago /old :ness:

I think I may have been 5 when I turned on the NES and FF1 happened to be in there. I happily walked around the world map and fought monsters. I remember casting spells and thinking the game was broke when my mana ran out and I could no longer cast any.

D; I think I was 8 when I first played FFVII? I got up to Shinra HQ when Jenova escaped and got freaked out because of the scary music and blood XD

haha i was like a devil child, the blood was my fav part, i even saved at that screen cuz i was so little, i was 5/6 when i played my first, it was number 7, simple o understand really, its all turnbased

Let's see... Final Fantasy VII released here...in June, I think? of 97, so I was seven years old.

I recall walking into GameStop at the mall one day, and seeing an advertisement for the game up on the tv that they used to have suspended from their ceiling. I watched the trailer, and instantly found myself drawn to the game. I was in awe. So I asked my mom if I could get it pre-ordered, and she said yes. Within minutes, I was all signed up and set to pick the game up on the day of its' actual release. That was my first ever Final Fantasy game, and I was in love with it, even at that age.

The game was difficult for me at the time, though, so I don't think I was ever fully able to indulge in the game until 2 years later, when I was 9. It was then that I was discussing with Foster, my best friend at the time, about the FF7 game. That was when he told me about FF9, and I remember we traded games. I played 9, and felt myself really enwrapped in that game as well, so I bought my own copy ASAP.

After 2 exciting games, I figured there had to be something about the series, so I started to get some of the other ones, etc..., etc...

VII was my very first, at age 7, and that started the frenzy for me. I loved it.

The first time I played a final fantasy was when I was 11. My brother had just gotten a copy of FFIX from one of his friends and we was gone for the weekend, so I decided to check it out.

He got pissed when he found out, but I didn't care.

Hmm... I believe I was around 11 or 12.

I had just finished playing through Chrono Trigger and I was looking for something similar. I remember I asked the store clerk in a game shop to recommend me something like CT. He pointed me towards FF VI, or III in my version, and said it was made by the same developers. The cover looked so stupid, with nothing on it but a skinny font spelling out Final Fantasy III, with a moogle on it, but I bought it anyway.

Sufice to say, that store clerk has changed my life. xD

I hope I haven't already posted here. But I think I was about 8-10 when I played Final Fantasy VIII, It was the first FF I played <3 Oh the Love I had for Squall.

I was about... 5 or 6 XD My Mom told a guy at work that I loved video games, so he recommended FFVIII. I actually got to the end of Disc 1, but got stuck in the sewers, since the controls down there are really stupid. I picked it up again at about age 8 and got stuck at Adel due to being underleveled and underjunctioned. I didn't end up having a successful playthrough until last summer.

I got FFIX when I was 6, and beat it when I was 10. I'd been stuck at Necron for a long time.

Now, at 14, I've only beaten those two games XD Though I do have incomplete files of every FF besides III and XI... I REALLY need to get around to doing those XD Now that I don't suck at the games, they shouldn't be impossible.

I was in year 4 so i think i was 9 it was final fantasy 7 from the libary i remember renewing it for 5/6 weeks

the libary were pretty pissed off LOL

i was six when my mom showed me final fantasy vii =] i was pretty good for a lil kid too, since the game has its really difficult moments

My first Final Fantasy game was FF7 Which i first played when I was around 6 or 7. I didn't actually get the game until a few years later.

My first Final Fantasy wasn't actually an FF. My first was SaGa II (FF Legend 2) for the gameboy when I was... 6ish I think.

My first real one was FFIV on the snes not too long after.

I was about seven or eight when I played my first FF. It was VII, and my aunt got it for my dad for his birthday. He didn't like it that much, so he turned it over to me to play. I blame him for my obsession with the series.

I was 10. I remember that I just got a PS1 and wanted to play a game so I went to my Sisters house and her husband had some games I could barrow. It was a choice of ethier Chrono Trigger or FFIX. His brother was over too and he wanted to borrow Chrono Trigger, so I took the FFIX game and loved FF ever since. It was hard at first, but I remeber that I wanted to see what happened so I decided I would finish it no matter what.

P.S I went back and play Chrono Trigger, another awsome game.

I was 13, ff8 just came out, MY FAVORITE GAME 2 DATE, I remember the graphics used to be phenomenal lol

I've been playing... since as long as I can remember. It started with FF 3 on our SNES. I felt it was a better game than Earthbound. It just stuck with me since.

Was 10 and won a prize for a free platinum game on the PlayStation..
But was bad timing because it was just after Christmas and all of the games were already gone.. >_>

But there was a Disney game there and a copy of Metal Gear Solid...but looked under the Metal Gear Solid cover to find a hidden copy of FF VII..
:awesome:

It was strange because failed to get down a ladder in one of the rectors but when was playing my older brothers game slot somehow managed to do everything...[ Which added in him getting ticked off and etc etc...]

Didn't really get passed FF VII till was 12 though..

But yeah it was destiny.. :3
