I have a question to those who are currently holding jobs, is there any way can I not make "work" work? I mean I have no problem with it (and I mostly lazy sometimes) but I keep hearing about how work is hard, how it is grueling and the only real reason people go is for the money. I heard "it is not called work unless you love your job" but sometimes I just don't what job I want and how can I love a job I hate? Is there anyway that I can enjoy what I am doing and still be happy to go to work?

This seems more fitting in Costa del Sol, so I'll move the thread for ya'. ;)

Getting a job in a field that interests you is always a good way to start.
What he said, basically.

If you hate your current job then it's unlikely that you'll find a way to love it. You should think about your ambitions and what interests you most, and then see if you can find a job related to them with the qualifications you have. And if you REALLY hate your current job then it may even be worth getting more qualifications to do what you really love.

My dad always tells me to get a job that pays well, and if I enjoy it then it's a bonus. I think that's terrible advice though. I want to get a job doing something that interests me, and where I can be constantly learning more on that area. I also find that it's so much easier to do well in a subject that interests you, whereas if you aren't really interested in it then you'll more often find that you just don't care that much and not put as much effort in as you could.

First, I'd ask why you hate your job. Co-workers? Working environment? Or do you just plain hate the tasks you're required to perform each day?

As for finding ways to like your job, if there were reasons to like it, they'd probably be apparent. If not, then they aren't good enough to outweigh your reasons for hating it.

But yeah, as the others have already said, it basically comes down to finding a job where you do something that you enjoy. Consider your interests, the type of person you are, the type of environment you'd like to work in, etc.

Doing something that you love first of all doesn't make it seem too much like work. And also working in a more laid back setting without the confinements of a strict boss. I have yet to find work that doesn't feel like work, except for today I had a pretty fun time, though I don't get too much of those.

I hate work with a burning passion, but I bloody love the people I work (with the exception of my lazy arse boss).

As what everyone said, it all comes down to your interests, generally speaking. From there, you'll surely be able to find a job that suits you. Anyway, you're young. Most people experience this when they're still new in the work field, so just keep hanging. One day you'll find a "career" instead of a "job" and chances are, you'll definitely find what you're looking for.

I loved my job at first, I love being round books so a bookseller sounded like heaven.

But then we got a bitch of a manager and the customers talk to you like you are shit. I want to leave my job at the moment, but with a ressestion (cant spell it, but basically banks and such running out of money at mo) on the horizon it looks like Im not going anywhere for a good while. My job has actually made me ill and I had a week off recently due to the stress and pressure of our bitch boss.

If you are unhappy with your current job, then get out quick. I know its easy saying it, but do so. Dont wait for people to come to you, go to them and get yourself out there. Call people who said no before and make sure you get someones attention and get a job you love.

For now, just keep telling yourself its a job, not a career. Look forward to the end of the day and it flies by. Imagine what youre going to do after work, see family, friends, a special someone. ANYTHING! Heck, Ive been using Fable 2 coming out soon to make work go quicker. That and my guy waiting for me everyday after work.

I work to live. I like the money in the rok i do, but not so much the work. I find motivation in thinking about how to use that money out of work. where the real fun is.

Well i was a kitchen porter and it's one of the most boring jobs ever so i occasionally found myself singing to myself but the way to make "work" not work is quit, belive me it works not the best of way to go about it.
