How is Final Fantasy 7 going to end?

we all know that there might be one last spinoff of this game. which probably occurs right after advent children and dirge of cerberus(due to the secret ending ) How will it end? Any ideas? all i know is it will probably be featuring genisis as the main villan.

We know that Sephiroth can never truly be defeated until every last Jenova cell has been eradicated and I'm pretty sure that it was confirmed that Sephiroth would thus never be able to die unless Cloud dies...which I think would be a pretty epic fucking ending and I whole-heartedly hope this happens.

I say Cloud will die because that would literally put a fork in the FFVII franchise and give Cloud a good ol' happy ending.

Srsly though, Cloud dying would be the be all, end all pinnacle of the FFVII franchise. Genesis probably didn't really care much for Sephiroth in CC, his beef was more with Zack and Angeal. So there could maybe be an inadvertent Weiss turns into Sephiroth via Jenova cell insertion, however that'd be pretty lame. I really wish they'd leave Sephiroth alone and out of it because it would make for an extreme overkill on his character.

Well Genisis Talked about the End of the world with wiess in the secret ending of Dirge of Cerberus Then Flying off Somewhere with Weiss in his arms. Thats got to mean something besides S.E. doesn't put that in a game for no apparent reason. Plus no one knows what happened Jenovas friggin Head and so to me sephiroth Coming back again is Really unlikely besides if he did god almighty to much overkilling.

Okay, but seriously, I think Cloud being killed would be the perfect ending for the series and a way for the fans to really let the whole thing go finally. I could see some last big bad showing its face, whether it's Sephiroth or Genesis-lets hope it's both-, and Cloud having the ultimate struggle to win over this epic evil.

Okay, without making this post seem very fanfic-ish I'll just say it;

Sephiroth exists because of Cloud. Sephiroth will ALWAYS exist as long as Cloud is alive, meaning that if there's a Cloud there's still a way for Sephiroth to try and kill everyone. The ultimate battle would involve Cloud trying to figure out how to finally kill Sephiroth once and for all--and we'll see the twist...Cloud dying is the only way to truly put a stop to Sephiroth's evil plans.

And so... the 10+ year old franchise within a franchise would finally be put to rest in a respectful manner, done with taste and class.

The end...

And that's how I think it's gonna go.

I hope if/when it ends, it ends just like that with Cloud dying. I have never and will never be a fan of his, he just never really did "it" for me. He wasn't my cup of tea and I never really liked him.

Yea, but like I said, Sephiroth can't really be "gone" until Cloud is dead. Remember, if there's a Cloud there's a Sephiroth. So, for there to be no Sephiroth that means Cloud will have to go bye-bye too. Which is cool, if you ask me. I mean, seriously, his story needs an ending. And his death is the best way. All great heroes must die, it's what gives tortures heroes peace.

His story desperately needs an ending. If DoC wasn't so Vincent oriented, then perhaps it would have expanded on the other party members and given them a good ending (As well as Red XIII MORE LINES)... but considering it was his game, it had his secret ending, which after CC was released, also helped us learn that it ties more into Sephiroth than Vincent. And what ties in with Sephiroth? Cloud... DoC's ending has set up (what hopes to be) a brilliant game to the end of the compilation. However we probably won't see it for 7 years (Y'know, the 20th anniversary of VII.)
